Curious how much life this bike has left in it (specifically the motor and battery). Rider is 68 yrs old. Has 1350 miles. Only ridden on dry trails. 5% ECO, 50% Tour, 45% ETMB, 0% Turbo. Ride in rough terrain, but only weigh 140 lbs. Bike has only been stored overnight with 100% charge...

Just a bit more info... on my last ride, I started with a full batt charge. Rode 28 miles, 2 hours and 20 mins. All in "Tour" mode. At end of the ride, had 2 dots (of 5) left. I guess that means it used somewhere between 60% and 80% of the battery charge. I know this is not much to go on...

My Rail 7 Gen 2 (1100 miles, 2 years old) battery seems to not be holding a charge as well as it did. Any input on quantitatively checking it out? If a new battery is needed, is there a less expensive aftermarket option? Any input appreciated. THANKS! Andrew C

Thank you. I marked the nut postion with a white paint marker when new, and checked it every ride. I guess after a year or so, I kinda quit checking it. My bad. Thanks, Andrew

Thanks, good info. In addition to alloy nut and steel crank threads, the crank is splined thereby eliminating half the threads. So yes, at 25+nm torque that prob right at the shear strength of the threads. I will order a couple of new nuts, one for a spare. When I do install the new one...

No big deal, but after owning it for 1.5 years, 850 miles, I'd thought it prob wouldnt come loose on its own. Hopefully the blue Loctite will help. Rode it 25 miles yesterday, and still tight.

Good question... The online service manual from the Trek site shows that it is to have grease. In the pic, the press-in cup is #5, and it shows to apply grease. Now a totally unrelated thing is... that top bearing cup, #4 is not round. It is oval, and is NOT press fit. The one that came in...

No sir, but I believe the bearings within the freehub require a blind bearing puller, to do it right. Andrew
