Cracking noise when riding

I have a 2017 Levo Expert. Currently I am experiencing a cracking noise whilst freewheeling and peddling. I am not sure if it is coming from the motor casing or the head stock. It has happened before, not long after a bought it, but I could get rid of it for a time with a good clean. However it persisted and I took it back to the dealer. They told me they thoroughly cleaned the motor area and it was resolved for a time. The one thing they did not say was what caused it! It has now come back. Has anyone experienced this and do you know what causes it.

Drop the forks and clean and regrease the headset.

I had a creak coming from my 2019 Levo that happened every time I pedalled hard. it turned out to be the battery plastic. I lined the joint with some heli tape and hey presto noise was gone.

I had a problem with the Cassette not being torqued up properly.

I'm getting a horrible crack noise. They reckon it's the steerer on the lovely new fox 36 forks. Riding local xc seems to be too Enduro for top of the range Enduro forks. Let's see what the warranty says.

Worryingly, they've sent several back, all from Levo. Hmmm
