I'm sure there are some frustrated people on this forum thinking "wait a tic, they haven't even delivered my Amflow frame or range extender yet, and now the bastards are already working on a new project???". In other words, moving insanely fast with innovations is only cool if they actually are able to produce them and get them into consumer's hands. Otherwise they will just be pissing people off...at an insanely fast rate!man if this is good, it’s starting to feel like domination. It’s insane how quick they’re dropping product. This will be the 3rd motor (4 if you count RS as different enough) in 3 years. They’ve also dropped 4-5 different amflow frames, 4-5 different batteries and now range extenders. They’re moving insanely fast. What a time to be a buyer.
Not sure what changes for you in a hypothetical future where Avinox dominates the e-bike space. How is that different from pre-Avinox when Bosch dominated the space?Ok,after the PL, PX, pR, now the TL at low price, a Gearbox in the future... it would be wise to change forum name:

So maybe e-cvt with planetary?
When you have an army of enginieers, un unlimited budget and government backing for world domination its pretty easy.....man if this is good, it’s starting to feel like domination. Let's not pretend it's only government meddling leading to this. Bosch is more than big and rich enough to innovate at this pace if they wanted to. They're just a slow unwieldy dinosaur getting out competed by a young hungry company. Tale as old as time. When you have an army of enginieers, un unlimited budget and government backing for world domination its pretty easy.....
Well not easy, but a shit ton easier than when constrained by budgets and not getting chunks of governement money thrown your way.
Thats probably on the low side for me and shimano 12spd derailleurs lolYeo, I'll be watching. I'm hoping in 2 to 3 years there'l be a comparably light enough and refined mgu unit mated to a 180mm carbon shredder. That would get me interested in upgrading the cresty.
PS I have destroyed 4 derraileurs in 14 months. I really look forward to a no D E-bike.

I really hope so! The Pinion MGU was a bit of a letdown, would be grand if Avinox released a powerful eCVT.So maybe e-cvt with planetary?
My main concern with an e-cvt is that I think it'd be terrible/unrideable with a dead battery, but maybe there's a way to engineer that problem away.I really hope so! The Pinion MGU was a bit of a letdown, would be grand if Avinox released a powerful eCVT.
Best thing ever would be if it's the same form factor and fits any existing avinox frame...
Without power you'd just spin the internals around like you're in neutral, I think. My main concern with an e-cvt is that I think it'd be terrible/unrideable with a dead battery, but maybe there's a way to engineer that problem away.
Why this reluctance towards anything Avinox related? Please share your experience with Avinox , what they really did to you, maybe we can understand and you'll feel better and maybe you'll change your mind about leaving. From eMTBforum, to, AVINOXWHAT'ELSE? Forum.

I think it depends on what you attach the crankshaft to. If you make the sun gear directly attached to the cranks then I think it'd technically work, but the gearing would probably suck. Planetaries melt my brain though, so I might be wrong.Without power you'd just spin the internals around like you're in neutral, I think.
Do you think that's why Avinox is popular? Such a motor would get no traction.Bosch should open up an LLC in Taiwan or the like, design at Bosch but sell through the LLC. and offer a 2000w, throttle optional. No top speed limit motor that just so happens to use the same case mounting points as the Gen 5. Even make them available on Alibaba for like $700 for retrofit.
In the US this works to do questionable things and just limits damages to the LLC. Not certain that Euro regulators would turn a blind eye though.
