I'm curious to hear about your experience with the Speci radial tires. I'm thinking of buying the Butcher as a front tire.
It will take some time since R came stock with Purgatory and I will test them first before switching if I don't like Purgatory.
For me grip especially on wet rocks and roots is more important than rolling resistance and fast wearing.

they look super fast

They definitely are for any tarmac bits and I'm hoping the lighter weight along with the faster rolling will eke out a little more battery life as a bonus? I don't need the tractor tyres that came on the bike as I'm too old and frightened of hurting myself to do any crazy steep downhill stuff!

I did wonder. Yes for sure you will get a fair few extra miles with them on.
nice set of gravel tyres.

I'll never wrap a light coloured bike myself again. Spending a day wrapping a light grey Amflow nearly broke me, re-applying pieces.
I remember it being a lot easier (and quicker) on my Levo. I think the dark colour hides a lot of imperfections.
Some say the edges has to be done over again and is done in no time the day after fitting and if that's correct and important will a person with five thumbs mange to do it?

After leaving ot overnight, the next day I did go over the invisiframe again and pressed down some edges.
With the Amflow, it kept coming up by the rear brake caliper. Eventually after a few days of this and having to try to clean dirt and dust off the underside, I cut another small strip and wrapped that over and it's stayed down since.
On my Levo I had no issues and it stayed down first time.

It's not difficult, it's just time consuming and can be a little frustrating and the cleaner the environment while fitting, the better.
I even tried making up an iso alcohol solution and using a hairdrier.

Thanks.
Time is no problem but it's impossible to remove contamination under the edges.
I just have to follow up the edges with my eyes and five thumbs cuz I want it to be as perfect as possible.

Schwalbe was first with radials and could charge a high price but now Specialized, Continental and others are coming with radials and then the prices drops on the whole line.
Schwalbe has decreased the price since first launch.
Competition makes prices decrease.
I paid ~$80 for Specialized radials.
I'd like to try out a rear radial kryptotal in the Enduro casing
I wonder how much of a weight saving an Enduro one of those would be compared to an Albert Gravity...

Guy Kesteven really rates them as XC tyres. I'm going more extreme on my hooman powered bike and getting a pair of these:

I am also gonna fit drop bars to it for shots and goggles.

the missus runs those on her Specialized - nice tyres - I like the Overlands for mixed surfaces - a bit more going on in the corners

Not this or even week before, but for gnarly trails I finally bought the Avs skid plate. And out of curiosity, I got the Ochain system. Could be placebo, but works for me 👍. I’m not recommending it to anyone, pricey bastard, but if you can test it, I encourage you to try it.

More expense 😭

Is that a refurbishment ?. Still waiting for my new Gen 3 to arrive. Posted Wednesday my heart jumped in middle of writing this after knock on door, parcel for next door though.
It's a brand new exchange motor with the upgraded parts fitted.
My old one also had the upgraded parts fitted and only lasted about two years 😭. Water had knackered the circuit board.
It's taken about a month to get as they are very busy at the moment.

I am disappointed really only 2200 miles and caput , so gen 3 motor not much better it seems .?? . Went through four on last levo. Wishing now I had bought some other bike last April instead of another Levo. Just been offered a hardly used high spec Cube but just can't justify it.
