I like to flip my bikes over to work on them BMX style, and this activates/ damages my e-bike controllers. Ideas?

Guys, I like to flip my bikes over to work on them, on the trail, in the garage, whatever...

The issue is that with e-bikes I'm constantly activating or in the case of my previous e-bike, damaging the handlebar controller. Does anyone have a good solution for this issue?

I was imagining a 3D printed half moon shape that installs on my handlebars and provides a little plastic puck for the weight of the bike to sit on when flipped over. Something light, simple, cheap, etc... Would probably just have 2 of them to protect both sides from damage.

I had some spare wood laying around so I made this…

The grips rest on the otter edges and there’s clearance for any stuff on the bar.
But I like the Temu little plastic things.

No problem letting my option remain on the bar you can even choose color

Cut 3” slices of foam pool noodles. You get about 20 out of 1 noodle, clip them on to bars, one on the seat front, before flipping bike. Worked for 20+ years for me.
You can cut smaller pieces if moneys tight. Or, Sneak over to the neighbors and slice off the end of one of theirs, they will never know. They never invite you over anyway…..

I got these. They work pretty well; just make sure they don't rotate when you're setting the bars down.

Just rotate the bar controller a bit when you go to flip it. I do this on mine but I only have the one controller and can rotate it enough that it's not contacting the buttons when upside down.

I'm old school & still use bar end grips. They allow me to work on my bike upside down & protects other components during the inevitable crash & burn.

I've never had that issue.

Anyways, I think pool noodles make the most sense in this case. I wanted something that was installed on the bike for trail repairs, but not seeing that option.

I usd to use bar ends (almost stubs compared to yours) to give my hands an alternate position. But riding in the forest with them became impossible because the undergrowth kept snagging and pulling me off the bike. They had to go.

I use a garden kneeler in the garage, but out on the trail, I'd put some tree branches or rocks under the grips.

Not cheap, but got a decent tax rebate this year. It's the only stand I've owned that really works well for holding heavy eMTBs in position for tasks like brake bleeds.
