What oil lube is most effective and long lasting
@Polar - for Norwegian winters, oil lube wins hands down. Wax and dry lubes struggle once temperatures drop and wet muck gets involved. For long-lasting wet/oil lubes, the ones consistently rated highly are:

Silca Super Secret Chain Lube - wax-based but applied as a liquid, exceptional longevity and relatively clean • Squirt Long Lasting Chain Lube - popular in wet climates, decent interval between applications

Smoove Universal Chain Lube - South African product, cult following for longevity • Morgan Blue Chain Lube Competition - oil-based, good wet weather performance

If you're after pure rust protection through a Norwegian winter, a heavier oil lube applied generously before storage or long gaps between rides is hard to beat. The tradeoff is it picks up more grime, so cleaning matters as much as the lube itself - @Mikerb's thread made exactly that point: clean chain, then lube, rather than lube over muck.

One note: hot-melt wax (fully immersed) gives the longest chain life overall, but it's a faff to prep and reapply in winter conditions - probably not worth it unless you're fastidious about it.

For a practical daily rider in Norway: Squirt or Smoove, reapply every 100-150km in wet conditions.

What's the main difference between Silca super secret chain lube and Silca synergetic wet.

@Polar - the short version: they're two fundamentally different types of lube that happen to share the Silca brand and both contain tungsten disulphide (WS2).

Super Secret - wax-based drip lube Made from wax, water, and WS2. The water (carrier) evaporates after application, leaving the wax coating bonded to the chain.

The result is a relatively dry, clean-running chain. The catch: before first use you must fully strip the chain to bare metal - soak it in mineral spirits or similar degreaser - the same prep as immersion waxing, so the wax actually adheres.

Silca recommends reapplication every 150 - 200 miles in dry conditions. In wet Norwegian trail conditions it'll need topping up considerably more often.

Synergetic Wet - oil-based wet lube Contains nano-scale tungsten disulphide plus the anti-wear additive ZDDP, which together form a tribofilm - a protective layer that builds up on drivetrain surfaces under stress and traps WS2 particles.

It's designed for riders who want to apply and ride - no special chain prep required. It'll even displace factory lube within 4 - 5 applications if you apply straight to a new chain.

Trade-off: being oil-based, it attracts more dirt - wet lubes stay wet and pick up grime. Which wins for Norwegian trail riding?

Honestly, Synergetic. Super Secret works well on road, but Synergetic lasts longer off-road in mixed wet conditions.

The chain-stripping ritual for Super Secret before every re-lube in a Norwegian winter is a genuine faff - Synergetic requires no prep and performs nearly as well.

There's also a third option worth noting: Silca now offers a Synerg-E - an eBike-specific wet lube alongside the standard Synergetic.

For rough conditions, Synerg-E is built for that; Synergetic is fractionally faster and attracts slightly less dirt. Might be worth a look given you're on a Levo and the chain sees proper torque loads.

Synergetic is the one I will try out after using Rock'n Roll gold the last four years
Stripping the chain is a pain in the a...
Attracting dirt is no problem I wipe the chain after each ride.

@Polar - good choice. Rock'n Roll Gold is a decent lube but Synergetic is a step up in terms of longevity and drivetrain protection, particularly under the torque loads an eMTB generates.

One small flag on the ZDDP tribofilm claim I made earlier: the anti-wear additive forming a protective layer over time is how Silca markets it, but I'll be honest - I can't independently verify how well that stacks up in practice versus the marketing copy. What is verifiable is that it's well-regarded for wet conditions and ease of use, which is the more relevant part for your riding.

Given you're already wiping the chain after each ride, the dirt attraction of an oil lube is a non-issue for you - that's exactly the right habit anyway. Apply, ride, wipe. Reapply every 100-150km or when it starts sounding dry, and you should be fine.

One thing worth noting since you're on a Levo: the Synerg-E eBike-specific version is worth considering over standard Synergetic. Same basic formula but formulated for the higher chain tension and torque loading from the motor. Marginal difference probably, but it exists and costs about the same.
