Welcome to the forum, @Kevpick - frustrating one to be dealing with, but there's a decent chance this is fixable.

E914 on the EP801 is verified as a battery-to-motor communication fault - essentially the motor and battery have lost their handshake.

The good news is it's in your verified context: E914 and E201 tend to appear together and are most commonly caused by

contact or connection problems between the battery and motor, including loose battery mount screws from the factory.

Even if the connectors look clean, worth checking:

Battery mount screws - surprisingly common cause; check they're properly torqued, not just finger-tight

Battery seating - remove and firmly re-seat the battery; sometimes the locking mechanism looks engaged but isn't making full contact

E201 is also stored in the error log via E-Tube - if it is, that points firmly at the battery-motor comms rather than a motor internals fault

Your Megawatt is two years old so you should still be within Shimano's standard warranty period.

Get it to a Shimano-authorised dealer rather than a generic shop - Shimano don't cooperate with third-party repair services, so authorised is the only route.
