My Santa Cruz Bullit C70 XL is sick and range hasn’t been an issue. That’s the only thing I worried about before buying as I’m heavier than average.
I’m 230 lbs with gear and water. I mostly ride fire road up and steep trails down. On a full charge of the internal 600 Wh battery I get at least 1000’ of climbing for each 25% of battery life. My average ride is about 3500’ climbing and I’ll end with around 20% battery life remaining.
I’m using AUTO mode detuned to 70 Nm/600 W for most of the climb unless it’s a relatively flat section and then I’ll use TURBO with settings turned all the way up. I use standard EMTB+ on singletrack.
So at my weight I’m easily getting plenty of elevation for a couple of hours of riding. This is what I really need.
I bought the range extender for longer rides and by my back-of-the-napkin calculations I could get about 5500’ climbing with plenty of juice to get me back down the hill.
I could go on and on about the rest of the bike. Best bike I’ve ever ridden in 30 years of riding. First ebike tho
Oh yes and one caveat, I rode an all singletrack up and down rocky chunk fest one day and the battery burned itself up at a much faster pace. So YMMV!
