Avinox Smart Front Light

Avinox is outputting 12v at 2.5a so a 30w max light, USB-C is 65w....... so double of the potential light.

I think Supernova M99 Pro2 is the most powerful that can be directly connected but not sure how much it can output connected to Avinox. Most probably it will not output the full 3000lm

I saw the review of the MB6 posted earlier. Looks like a Beast! I'm just not keen on the USB connection for when it rains, bashing it, etc. Hence my requirements are really for a "direct connect".

Why would the Supernova M99 Pro2 not put out full 3000lm when direct connected? What is stopping it?

And, finally, does anyone have a Supernova M99 Pro2 and are they good?

Also, I don't seem to be able to find the Amflow Smart Light for purchase anywhere in the UK. Everytime I come back to this idea and have a look it says "Sold Out" everywhere. Is it even still available?

(Maybe they are making a more powerful one...?)

On the spec they quote 1500lm at 21w, as Avinox max out is 30w, but realistic they would need to stay around 27w, you can do the math.

For USB-C there is more risk to break the cable than the plug but nevertheless the risk is there. Worst case you need a new display unit that is not cheap. Rain is an issue for sure. Vice versa having the light always mounted you risk to damage that also not chep.

I found the light at Monster MTB (coincidentally where I bought my bike): Amflow Light.

Really tempted as I like lots about it:

• Always there with a solid mount onto the stem.
• No battery to recharge.
• Controlled by the onboard wireless controllers.
• Decent power (1200lm)

But, downsides that I've seen:

• Light pattern is a bit whacky.
• Not as bright as a lot of other models (but do I need more than 1200???)

Hmmm, £170 is a lot of money.

I would like to see a 'quick detach kit' for the Avinox light.
Think 15cm M-F extension cable with attached end cover + new bolt with wingnut.
Then all you have to do is replace the light cable with the extension and plug the light into the now-accessible extension end.

@Gloworm Lights do these lights run on any of the avinox usb c outputs? most have 10w usb c ports but some are 65w. is 10 enough to fully power your lights?

Sorry for late reply here. Our XSV-PD will only work on max with the higher output 65W ports.
