I think that's pretty much what I said previously, Avinox + removable small battery, I would buy that. The only thing I would add is cutting weight further by producing a smaller motor, Avinox could surely make a 50-60% version of their current motor which would be more than adequate for my riding fitness and probably a lot of other people's fitness level as well. 400w battery minus 4lbs from 800w, smaller Avinox minus 1.5-2 lbs over current motor, 5.5-6lb weight savings. If a pound or 2 doesn't matter on a 40lb bike, then does a pound or 2 or 4 matter on a 48-50ish pound bike? Does the weight matter? Of course it does, anywhere it can be cut as long as it suits you. Why bother with the current Avinox if you intend to make it "mid-power" anyway? Unless what you really want is have your cake and eat it too, because I know if you have 1000W+ power available, you're going to use it, nothing wrong with that if you have a spare battery (or 2) in your car for more laps.
