Was scrolling on YouTube and came across this video of new brembo brakes.
Seems interesting but expensive though
It’s cool that Brembo is keeping them aftermarket only. I also think they’re priced interestingly because I believe they’re the least expensive of the ultra high-end brake system options.
Biggest downsides to me are their oversized lever/reservoir; limited adjustability; and they need to offer a black option.

I think I saw other color options somewhere.

Bembo makes amaziinnnnng moto brakes. I’d be interested to try their mtb brakes, but I agree and would never get that red personally lol.

Seems they had a bunch of colors at Sea Otter but no simple black.

They have more adjustability than 90% of brakes on the market.

Bite point, lever position and lever ratio.

I expect these to be really good. Everything they do in the Motorsport World is excellent.

My personal first impression:

I took the photos below at their booth during the Garda Bike Festival. That was actually the first time they showed them publicly with a proper bleed done (unlike at Sea Otter). I squeezed them and, to be honest, I was not impressed at all. The levers look and feel cheap, they are quite bulky, and not particularly ergonomic.

The biggest disappointment was the spongy feel, especially considering they were bled by Brembo themselves. I can’t comment on braking power since they weren’t available for any kind of test ride, not even a short one.

Honestly, I struggle to see where these fit into today’s market, which is already full of excellent and proven brakes, unless someone is simply a big Brembo fan.

For around €1000 including tax, you can buy pretty much anything on the market, even the Intend Trinity if you’re fast and lucky. That’s also only slightly less than the Trickstuff Direttissima or Maxima.

They shouldn't feel spongy that's not the experience I had with them when I went on the press camp. Could the lever have been set up in the S setting which is the softest setting?

Is it possible they just put on a dog-and-pony show at the press camp? That seems to be very common practice these days. On top of that, it’s hard to trust all those influencer-paid reviews anymore. I trust my own hands-on experience.

And yes, I did play with the settings, which honestly feel like a gimmick on high-end brakes. Good brakes should be set-and-forget. I have no problem adjusting mine with a hex wrench once every couple of years. If something as simple as brakes constantly needs tinkering, it starts to feel like smoke and mirrors.

Same goes for suspension. The best custom-tuned suspension setups for a specific rider usually don’t have a million knobs and switches.
