• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Hello
I also installed US Software, I chose the 32km/h option on a Cannondale Trail Neo with Bosch CX.
Everything works perfectly, the bike now feels much better, as it should have. The process was simple and very fast. I paid 50 euros for it. It was 100% worth it, especially since everything is like from the factory.

I'd like to go ahead with this with ebike Dr. The announcement of yet another update from Bosch to bump the performance of the motor up a little in May has me thinking I'll wait, and then unlock though.

Used his service last week. Flawless, and easy. 5min later 32km/h on my Bosch Gen5, 52km ride in the weekend 0 issues!

I also recommended him to a friend, not on here, who had had his bike done and is very pleased as well.

I’m trying to understand how the new 33km update is different to flashing to US config?

What’s the difference?
From what I read, the 33 km/h speed option provides full assistance up to 33 km/h, and then it tapers down (until it stops at 34 km/h).
With the US config/ the 32 km/h option, assistance starts tapering down earlier, at 30 km/h (until it stops at 32 km/h).

Have you tested the Performance Update 2.0 yet? I'm wondering if it will be safe to install on 4 May for those of us who have already the 32km/h speed increase?

Do you recomend using a VPN or removing the bike from the Flow app first?

Thanks! :)

Hello everyone. I installed the American firmware version using ebike-doctor. The speed increased to 30 km/h. Could you please tell me what this new 33 km/h speed option is and how to install it on my bike?

Ebike Doctor's website just updated with:

  • 2026 May 4. flow app and eBike POWER update is safe to use
maybe wait for him to provide more info here as well?

Does that include the Bosch gen4 cx race (2025 pivot shuttle, you did mine a couple of weeks ago)

Just done the update and everything looks the same as before. Good job Ebike-Doctor

Hello,
Does any of you use the garmin integration? I would be curious if I can exclude the speed data (which is false) to get from the bike to the edge, but use the power data. Also, if there is no speed data going back to the bike, what may cause problems if the bike realize the real speed it not what it thinks.

My question is this: if I change the wheel size but I still use the Flow app to log my rides, will it affect the Strava integration?

Looking at Bosch's information on Performance Upgrade 2.0:
On the U.S. website: Up to 600% support only up to 20 mph.
On the EU website: Up to 600% support only up to 15 km/h.
In other words, for the U.S. (and other regions with a 20 mph speed limit), up to 600% with no restrictions (up to the speed limit), and for the EU (and other regions with a 25 km/h speed limit), with a limit of 15 km/h.
Did someone make a mistake when writing this information, or is that really the case?

I used ebike doctors service this evening. Whole process was very simple and slick with guides for each step of the way.

Took bike out and works perfectly with assistance up to 33kmh.

Feels more natural as no longer hitting that 25kph wall.

Would recommend!

ANyone have input on this? If the bike thinks I'm going half as fast as I really am, will it input to Strava as half speed? It doesn't actually use GPS to determine speed when sending to Strava from the Flow app?

Strava calculates both distance and speed based on the recorded GPS data.

I don't know for sure but I would not use the flow app for activity tracking if you have altered the wheel size parameter. Even if it works fine now. It prob one of the easiest ways for Bosch to know you've fiddled with the bike with continued large gap between gps speed and wheel speed.

If you're using the Flow app sync, Strava trusts Bosch's data - you get half the speed and distance. You can do a recalculation on activity manually, from Strava's website.

However, I'm using the wheel size, with Flow app tracking, Strava sync etc and I got the speed sensor error 4 times, need to go to dealer to unlock. But I have no idea if using Flow app is what caused the error.

I'd be pretty sure that's the issue. Flow app sees gps speed from paired phone and it doesn't match the bike speed based of the fiddled wheel size. Two numbers too far apart throwing the error(I'm guessing)

Thanks to everyone for the input. If I end up adjusting wheel size I’ll make sure to not use Flow while riding.

Hello, what is the error code you had? Are you using the app actively while riding or it is just running in the background?

I never use the flow app actively while riding, but I’m thinking if I should unpair the phone<>bike.

Had my new cube sorted by ebikedoctor on Friday, chose the 33km/h option.

I messaged, he replied with extra info / what to get ready.
I did the prerequisites and he connected and updated my motor 5 mins later.
Didn’t take long, did a car park test and paid.

Anyone done the new / latest update with the assistance full till 33km/h option (instead of the original 32 option with trailing support)?

524001. I've been using the app like normal, for navigation on bike, tracking activity, syncing to Strava etc.
Description claims you get reduced power, but I haven't noticed that. The motor does turn itself off at higher cadence though. And always shows 0.0 as your speed. In stats, it shows max speed as 0 but average speed is shown normally. Also, navigation on kiox doesn't work properly - it doesn't update.
