I think the other upgarde might be cranks (build 2 with the GX), I've been looking at the Forx or 5Dev to match the alloy look. Anyone got any experience with those 2?
I have Pinnd alloy cranks ready to go on. Have them on my Decoy and they have been great. Adds another UK component👍🏼

I've been looking around at alternatives and I don't think you can get anything other than Amflow PXs in stock, Karves are July/Sept. Zendits July to August, Dreadnought ? according to my LBS on the way. Flux, Forestal and Crestline seem a bit unkown availability wise in the uk.

I think anyone that preordered is going to be one of the first to get a genuine 170/180mm travel Avinox bike. It looks like the PR/M2 bikes are going to be later again.

Still can't wait to get my hands on it, it just gives me a bit more time to get some upgrades, which is a real problem I have when I have time on my hands. Carbon wheels are here and ready with DHR/Assegai on. Old carbon Pivot DH bar that I like the shape of along with a new alloy Intend stem for a bit of bling. If this new Atherton Ebike rides as good as my new AMflow Pro I will be very happy, happy to wait and give them a chance.

Nice, what size have you gone for? I got the info below in an email. I thought the current trend was a bit shorter but my size 8 is coming with 165mm

"We are using sram cranks, on your build it will be GX cranks, 165mm. The M2S motor has the same ISIS interface. Currently our cranks are not compatible but it is something we are looking into."

Yeah the longer I wait the longer I have to give into buying the bits I would have speced if I’d had the choice….

Light bicycle carbon rims with no spoke holes drilled so not needing rim tape and dt350 hubs been ordered to build wheels…

I just missed out on an ext storia…

Tacky chan and MM
Spares for the drive train….

Etc…..

If I don’t get it soon I’ll be able to buy a frame and build a full bike 🥸

I have 155mm on the way. That’s the size I am used to on the Decoy. Look good in the raw finish, older bike has the black and they still look brand new.

Velduro rogues available
Looked at these. The drag on the idler, just turning it be hand without a chain is huge. I thought they fixed this also in the new m2s motor as well. But it's very hard to turn by hand without the chain. Combine the two, it's going to have a huge impact on battery range

Thats odd. Ive just checked mine and it easily turns with 1 finger.

No idea. Had three frames in the shop. Idler and motor on all three were the same. Very hard to turn.
I wouldn't judge it out of the box on on a shop floor. It would need some running first for a fair assesment imo.

Not sure what's with all the haters, I run a small business...under promise, over deliver

What I will give them credit for though is that they make banging bikes and this one will absolutely be worth the wait 👌
Oh no, not the worn out "haters" paradigm yet again! Sheesh.

Morning Irie, fair enough it's a lazy comment, I just felt there were a few posts coming in that weren't adding much or felt a bit like rage bait.

I agree that some of the comments saying people want refunds might come across over the top, but it was in the marketing by Atherton that you could get a refund if you weren't happy, and I get their disappointment.
People were offered Apr/may, may/june, etc in batches, but if you bought on the 9th Apr at release think you were offered June/July and if you put a bike in your basket today you're offered early July.
So some of us that till a leap of faith with Atherton (and helped a small company with cash flow) are frustrated that we've been pushed back to the point that we could have waited for release, and whilst I feel for the sales team they must deal with a million emails a day their communication has been poor.

Are you excitedly waiting for an Atherton to arrive?

Just searched you up and can see you think the bike's ugly so I guessed not 😉

Also not sure if I should be honoured or what but you commented on Friday after I'd posted that comment and then yesterday you went back in time on me.

If you went even further "back in time" you would see that I would recommend never paying in advance for anything.

Apparently not all builds come with the 12A fast charger. Does anyone know which builds get it?

This wouldn't be the end of the world IF fast chargers were readily available.
Unfortunately there is no stock due until early June, as i've recently discovered.

That would be a shame, I kinda hoped, as it was the premium spec motor, and the premium spec battery it would come with the full power charger to.

They haven't been super forthcoming with 'all the details'
for instance, it doesn't say the dropper length, or the version the tyres...
From info online, it looks like the softest DH version of the tyres, and I would be surprised if it was less than a 200mm drop.
Also, I am assuming the wheels are 6 bolt J bend versions.

Unless I am being blind and missing the full details email/page ;-)

All pretty minor in the scheme of things, none of these will actually impact my decision to buy it...

That’s a pretty poor show. Should at least get the option for the fast charger, especially when they have been hyping fast charging making battery swaps unnecessary.

With regards to dropper, I asked this question re length. Because we have supplied measurements they will supply a dropper that fits you, although you can ask for a certain length if required.

"Depending on the build spec, Atherton pair it with either a 4 A or 12 A charger. With the 12 A charger, the 700 Wh battery can be charged in under two hours. "

Does anyone know if the motor needs to be dropped to take the battery out? I know it's said not to be a quick swap battery but how much work is required to take it out?

Just spoken to Matt at Atherton Bikes.
All e170’s regardless of build spec will come with the fast charger.
They have received a number of calls today asking this and didn’t know where the rumour had come from.
I explained where so there may be an official post incoming…..

Would also be interested to know this. I'll let you know when I hear back.
I'm a bit happier with their latest response, previous was a bit of a fob off, but makes sense with each size being made in batches, setting up the frame jigs must take a while.
First time I've paid a penalty for being tall in a while other than hitting my head a lot

The article posted on my previous post stated some builds come with the slower charger.

Thanks for updating.
