Needed more of my chain lube of choice, Lubenschliden Darkmatter Formula 2.5. Stuff really is the best I’ve found for shedding dust and dirt. Love the process too, where you don’t strip the chain between applications. Can’t recommend this stuff enough.

This sounds decent. Googled it and £30 shipping to the UK

I think I'll stick with Peaty's Dry Wax Lube. I need to reapply it after ever 5 or 6 rides but it's super clean.

I used to use rock n roll it was good but that was on analogue bike .3 in 1 for me now sod the expense.

I've tried most of the main brands of bike lube in various formulas but Peaty's Dry Weather Wax Lube is the only one that I've found doesn't form a horrible black gunk. If you're out in the rain or the trails are particularly damp you do have to apply it more often but it beats cleaning jockey wheels and getting a chain tattoo on my legs. It also works well to quieten squeaky swings at the kids play park next to my house (my youngest daughter loves the basket swing but incessant squeaking from the plastic bushings was driving me nuts!) :D

My mate has been trying to convince me to start doing hot waxing (of bike chains, not body hair) but I can't be arsed with slow cookers and all the associated faff.

Yes a lot swear by the waxing some say it takes minutes. Then again salesgirl in a shop I use says a steel cassette should last forever. What am I doing wrong. I get about 700 miles from chain so considering the mud etc I feel that's OK.

Latest haul:
Couple of MDR-S 203mm x 2.5mm rotors
Some RRP mudguards
A SRAM transmission chainring guard (just curious)
and thought I'd try some Stamp7 pedals this time.

[edit] also the RaceFace crank covers seem to fit the Amflow cranks almost perfectly

including a slightly broken link as the forum doesn't seem to like the amazon links

Ergon GA3 grips as I've been suffering with carpal tunnel problems and hopefully they'll help.
They are very good IF you get them just at the right angle ( 1 or 2 degrees up or down can make the difference).
You might have to spend some time to get the angle just right for you, but if you get it right they should make a big difference to you arm and hand comfort.

Yes I know, I've got another bike (aka the wine fetcher) with ergonomic grips (not Ergon's) and setting the angle correctly to suit your wrists and take the weight off the heal of your palm whilst not pushing your wrist up is vital. Something like 15 degrees below horizontal seems to work for me. It was riding that bike the other day for a hour or two that made me realise why I wasn't shaking my hands out every ten minutes or so after the initial first 30 mins like I am with the Moterra and the normal round Deathgrips.

Received my order from Outlier (in Canada) today😎

new pair of pendulum pedals, spare axles and a bearing kit 😎

So I’ll rebuild my original (year old) pair of pendulum’s and ride the new set 😎

Also, bought a toolbox from Halfords to store the cycle tools and spares - well some of them 🤡

What happens if you accidentally tread on just the front part of that pedal? At full pelt?

..Or if that pedal flips over on you while dropping a foot down for a moment?

unless your foot slips foreward (on the verry grippy pins) thats not going to happen as they naturally bias you to 'heel down'

that does happen, pedals with good / new bearings naturally revert to pins upwards but greased or worn out bearings can slow and drag the rotation😶

Hope they work out, you'll have to let us know your thoughts.

They look awesome and I like the lower center of gravity for your body weight philosophy going on there! (y)

Finally broke down and ordered a new Assegai (DH, MG, 2.5”) rear tire after noticing slipping during climbing has become too prevalent. Put this one on December 7, so I got about 5 months and about 700 miles out of it. Probably a good time to refresh the sealant anyway.

Oh come on man! That tire still has another 200-300 yards left in it. 700 miles is actually very decent mileage for a tire in the desert. And yeah, sealant dries out quickly in our low humidity and high heat.
