    Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Nothing to do with region. The firmware does not check where it's at. Once you make the change it will work wherever you are. I was in 25km limit région (Europe) and now I got 45km support. I believe class 3 gives you that ability. That is also allowed in Europe for Class 3 ebikes.

Wow, that is cool that they were able to finish the software! That modification in prototype form was shown on this site several weeks ago but, at that time, EbikeDoctor said that it was not ready for release to the public yet, as they were still working on it.

Yes I am glad I did it because today I tested it and I got up to 43 kmh until my legs gave out 😁 Could have easily reached 45 though !
 
What's going on here? Why would he have a fake profile? What would he gain from it? :D

Are you serious ! :LOL: You think I am posting in pursuit of monetory gain ?...I have no Idea who @EbikeDoctor.I had Speedbox installed and got flagged twice by Bosch FW. So I did not want to take a chance for a 3rd time. I had @EbikeDoctor convert my Corratec Bosch Gen4 to USA FW but still did not reach 32km easily. He contacted me and told me he could make it Class 3 (45km) So I decided to give it a chance. Lo and Behold my bike now can go up to 45km with Motor Support.
Are you miffed because you got competition ??? Dont make assumptions like that because you know you are being ridiculous.

I need to share my experience here as a warning to others, because what happened to me was frankly unacceptable.

I used Rudie's service to get my Bosch Smart System unlocked. After a few rides, my bike completely stopped working and threw error code 518122 (see photos attached) - On the other hand my partner's bike working just fine, so I have no idea what's happened. But whatever the reason I've got a bricked bike. Useless. I tried to reach out to Rudie to report the problem and get help — and he had completely vanished. No reply on WhatsApp. Nothing. Gone.

To make it even worse, he went back and quietly edited the title of his original post in this thread — the one that confidently claimed he could unlock ALL Bosch motors into ALL BIKES LOCKED — and just disappeared, leaving everyone who used his service stranded with no support whatsoever. No website. No contact details. No accountability. Just silence. That is an absolutely disgraceful way to treat people who trusted him and paid for a service.

I was left completely alone with a broken, unrideable bike and zero recourse.

The only thing that saved me was finding eBikeDoctor. What a difference. Professional website, clear information, and he responded almost immediately. He fixed my bike completely for free in under 15 minutes. I was genuinely stunned at how smooth and professional the whole experience was compared to what I had just been through with Rudie.

I cannot recommend Rudie's service any more. If something goes wrong — and as you can see from my photos, it can — you will be left with nothing. No help, no response, no way to even reach him.

And now just a month later he come back to forum like nothing happened and try to keep selling his service and attacking another specialist which is his competitor by accusing him of being scammer this is just ridiculous.

@EbikeDoctor , on the other hand, I cannot recommend highly enough. He actually stands behind what he does. I have no clue what happened that his initial forum topic and his original account has been banned, but looks like on this forum people got banned without any explanation.
 
I have to agree that some of Rudie's posts, long absences and antics here are not likely to build trust in his service. I am grateful that the e-bike doctor is available as an alternative but in spite of the many posts here praising the e-bike doctor service not one has indicated how much it cost. Rudie on the other hand was very transparent on his pricing, originally good value at €75,- compared to hardware options and later only €35,- for this forum's members.
Will anyone tell us what does the e-doctor charges?
 
It seems an S-Pedelec software, speed limit is 45km/h.

Just curious: Do you have eMTB+ ?

If the 45km/s has all the features of a normal CX4/CX5, it's a nice update, since you'll see true speed and distances.


PS: I did my ebike through Rudie, and everything was ok! Yes he disapeared, but has been quite active through Fb.
Personally I can vouch for him, and he was the true disrupter, introducing Flash for little money as 35€.
If Rudie manages to make it 45km/h as speed limit, I'll be interested for sure!

I don't want to sound like a winning rider, but in my opinion, the best upgrade I got from Bosch, was the eMTB+.

And let me state that I don't upgrade the software once it's released, and I only tried eMTB+ after Rudie flash, which upgraded everything to latest software.

With eMTB+, I understood RACE motor, and how much difference the 2m of self assistance makes.

eMTB+ & Speed-Limit set higher than 25km/h (be it 32km/h or 64km/h), the bike is really nice to ride.

The 45km/h is the SPedalec software.
Check if you Cargo mode.

I think what would be suitable sprocket ratio for higher speeds? Now i got front 34 and 10/51 on the back, should it be bigger in front, like 36 or more?

I think that has been asked somewhere in the forum.

IF, big IF, I was chasing top speed:

1- Buy a 104 adapter (there are meany)
2- I would try every chairing I have in 104 --> even puting lenghtier chairing bolts and spacers behing to increase gap between chairing and Chainstays
3- After cheching max chairing (probably 48t), I would buy a N/W and that's it!

48T x 10t = 4.8 final drive
~ each pedal rotatio.= 10.5m
- @90rpm ~ 57km/h
- 64km/h would mean ~ 100rpm
Theoretically speaking.

Real world:
Being Bosch CX, a torque sensing motor, it would need +150W on the pedals, in eMTB+ (400%), to reach 600W/750W max power.
This would equate to ~750W on a CX4 and ~ 900W on a CX5, and being a MTB, even lowering yourself on to the handlebar, I don't believe you could reach 64km/h, because you would need around 1100W/1200W - on flat road, no wind, no help what so ever.

So, to reach 1100W/12000W:
CX4 - 500W/600W @ 100rpm
CX5 - 350W/450W @ 100rpm

It's not impossible, but....

Changing tyres/frame/drop bars,etc, it would much easier.

Hi, thanks for reply. I think i just try with 44-48 in front and thats enough. With 34/10 max is around 45 on flat, but its bit too much for my legs🤭
 
Does anyone have the US version from the polish guy who did it first on this forums? I've never tried updating, do you know what that will do?
 
I do, but to be safe I also haven't updated yet. There wasn't really any new feature I wanted in those updates.

I only found out there was a Flow update today, so will probably update at least one of my bikes at the weekend if the weather is OK. There's another thread where people have had 'US' updates done by the eBike Doc that seem OK, and perhaps I'm just being hopelessly optimistic it sounds like he can probably unjigger things if necessary.

The answer is... complicated. If the bike’s serial number registered with Bosch (i.e., the motor, controller, etc., with their specific ID numbers) hasn’t changed, and the bike’s manufacturer hasn’t suddenly changed after the firmware update, there shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s a different story if, for example, it was previously a Trek and became a Cube after the update.
After (or better yet, before) the software update (for the US version), you should deregister the bike from Flow and then register it as a new bike with the updated software. This should prevent any incompatibility issues between the signatures of the bike originally registered in Flow and the updated one.
For me, the bike remained the same after the update as it was before. I unregistered and then re-registered the bike in Flow. The latest software installed without any issues.
After updating the engine software to version 19.24.0 (LED Remote 19.22.0) all user ride mode settings have been reset to default. If you use the bike with settings other than the default ones (which is likely the case), you’ll need to reconfigure the user modes.
