too heavy , too expensive , too much of a risk
26 kg for a small … this is a joke
I agree. Seeing Yt respond to comments about weight is funny. They almost made a sick bike. Might as well buy the commencal. Pretty similar. Unless they did a decent spec build and it was way cheap but still heavy I don’t know who’s interested in that.Missed opportunity in my view. Great look but for this weight/€ there is a lot of competition out there
I mean if the Amflow PR was built to the same spec as the Decoy it would be heavier and more expensive. Not really a fair comparison.Agreed. Too expensive too heavy. The PR looks like a much better deal.
Only now that you said it, I understand why!Terrible marketing tagline. Terrible.
I mean, if the Decoy was carbon like the Amflow, it would also be even more expensive than it already is. Not fair comparison either. Point is, in my opinion, this YT is a very poor value and poor proposition. I won’t prevent anyone from buying it though, go aheadI mean if the Amflow PR was built to the same spec as the Decoy it would be heavier and more expensive. Not really a fair comparison.
My Carbon 180/178, High Pivot Teewing Flux Enduro with 800Wh battery, Fox 38 fork, Fox Float X shock, DD casing Maxxis Tyres, is 22.9kgs Vs 25.4kgs for the YT. Price wise it's also £5250 Vs £7400 for the YT.I mean if the Amflow PR was built to the same spec as the Decoy it would be heavier and more expensive. Not really a fair comparison.
I don't see anyone but the YT diehards buying this bike. It makes no sense. With all this discussion about weight etc - Do people out there still trust the YT brand? I mean - how gullible can you be? I totally understand if they priced it 40% below everyone else - I can see people willing to take the risk. But starting at 8500 EUR - seriously? This is a brand and CEO that promoted a killer sale days before they knew they'd file for bankruptcy. There's no "fool me once" here - YT will do whatever it takes to keep afloat, including screwing their "family" customer base. But if people still trust them enough to pay 8500 EUR and up - I guess evolution is working...
Where did you get these from? Can't find them on the homepage?
You've bought the base level Flux iirc? Again not a fair price comparison. If your Flux was similarly spec'd it would probably come out at the same price and also weigh more. I'm not a YT fanboi by any strech of the imagintion but Teewing is a new company with very little track record they could be gone two years from now so makes no sense to use them as a comparison for how risky it might be to buy from YT. If you said Specialized, Trek or another well known and time proven brand you might have a point. My Carbon 180/178, High Pivot Teewing Flux Enduro with 800Wh battery, Fox 38 fork, Fox Float X shock, DD casing Maxxis Tyres, is 22.9kgs Vs 25.4kgs for the YT. Then there's YT's financial record. It's not a good buy any way you look at it.
There are lower priced models coming in the summer. With all this discussion about weight etc - Do people out there still trust the YT brand? I mean - how gullible can you be? We agree on you cannot compare them. One is an alloy long travel EMTB that weighs 25.4kgs. The other is a carbon long travel, high pivot EMTB, that weighs 22.9kgs. Other than entry level bikes. Does anyone buy 25kg+ EMTBs anymore ?Again not a fair price comparison.
Wheight is not always a bad thing. In my experience aluminum and heavier bikes feel better going down.too heavy , too expensive , too much of a risk
It is when your 60yo and need to pick it up ......Weight is not always a bad thing.

I'm hoping to see more alu bikes coming out with the 700wh battery. It's quite a bit lighter than the 800 and also allows for less material in the downtube. The battery capacity doesn't bother me since you can lower the power easily for longer rides. How light can you realistically make a full power alu framed enduro emtb? I think 24kg is prbably the lower limit currently, maybe 23kg with a 600wh battery.
Some of the carbon framed Avinox enduro bikes are 23-24kg.
Fool me once, shame on- shame on you. Fool me- you can't get fooled again. With all this discussion about weight etc - Do people out there still trust the YT brand? I mean - how gullible can you be?
