Drone manufacturers can already access solid state batteries with considerly more energy density. I'm certain they're considerably more money. But that's the direction Maxon should go right from day one. 600w SS battery. A full power AM bike that weighs <20kgs is the standout product.

you can't buy any bike with this system TODAY, so far the motor is announced, bikes are announced, but nothing is buyable. transalpes had their FIRST prototype end of august at testRIDE Lenzerheide, they built it up a few days earlier.

It's a bit early to talk about Avinox as part of the big two. Let's see how things are after a year in the field.
They’ve been out a year already, so far they seem to be super reliable. My mate’s shop has had his demo fleet since October last year, they have 1000s of miles on them in Scottish Highlands weather and have had no issues. The only complaint he has is the rattle, they all have it or eventually developed it.
The n is still pretty low. I agree it's promising, but still think it's too early to call them one of the big 2.

The Mahle motor seems nice but doesn't bring anything major compared to Bosch or Avinox.
Not sure how many bike brands will want to play along.
I honestly agree. To me the fact that no big brands jumped on the Avinox make me think twice. But let's see what the future provides.
If you're referring to the Maxon Air S, I disagree. At 2kg for the motor with 90NM, they are playing in the Fazua / TQ weight class and getting close the new standard of full power which is 100+NM. According to e-mtb magazine the DJI motor is 2.5kg, that's quite a difference.
It's great that there is more differentiation in the market. Not everyone needs huge amounts of power. Personally, I don't need that much power. I want the bike to get me up the mountain more quickly so I can do more trails in the same time. With my Transition Relay (Fazua 60) and a 430wh battery I have managed 1400m vertical in an up-down day (little distance for the climbing). With the 480wh battery I can do even more - haven't tested the limits yet.
I almost never ride with max assistance and manage my battery, and I pedal actively. But that's what I want and I value that the bike is still pretty light. Others may want all the power and don't want to exert themselves. It's great if both can get a good bike for what they want.
All that to say that I look quite a bit at the system weight in terms of what's exciting on a new motor. The power interests me less if it meets the Fazua benchmark of 60NM and 350W

Maybe in the US, bit I would say there is a pretty decent number of Avinox bikes out in the wild in Europe currently.

The bike they have on their instagram is a 4 bar not like the one in the article, yes that does look the same as the Dirtlab Paratu. I assume it was to get the engaged company name out at eurobike.
Unfortunately all the snaps of it so far have a lyric so must be aimed at trail rather than enduro

Their WhatsApp chat link doesn't work either.. "phone number shared via url is invalid."
I was only looking for a little info and/or to be put on a mailing list, but the lack of comms isn't exactly confidence inspiring.

I did a search on Static bikes and, amongst a load of pages advertising drying-rack style exercise bikes, a shop called trailz bikes at Eversley came up with upcoming stock of the Static Nivo and a contact email. Might be worth a lash...

I thought I'd resurrect this thread to ask if anyone has heard anything about bikes in the pipeline using this motor/battery system. In addition to Thomus and Pole, it seems there are a few boutique (small company) brands offering this (e.g. Instinctiv, Goobz, C-Duro, Static, Dirtlab), plus some other brands that I've never heard of previously (Geniux, Spherik).
The system seems much anticipated but news is scarce. So, if you know of anything, please cough-up!

Honestly I’d be very leery of buying a bike with this motor system, I don’t think Maxon will survive.
Edit: I meant their e-bike motor, not the entire company.

Maxon exists for 65 years and is much more than an emtb motor company so they will hopefully survive. They equipped the NASA Mars rover for instance.
Maxon will be fine but of course there is no predicting the future of the e-bike motor itself.
I'm more weirded out by the crazy influx of new bike brands and I just have a hard time seeing how the established bike players (i.e. Spesh, Trek, Santa Cruz, etc.) survive when 2 guys in a garage can offer really nice competitive bikes and they are coming out what seems like daily with new and innovative product.
I do think in 8 years there will be tons of trashed weird name bikes that are missing a no longer available linkage bolt or the like.
