Its not so much that i was worried about the noise in walk mode, but having seen the issues, i was dubious to install the update as any negatives to it made me feel it was very Beta still. Maybe i should have just done the update and ripped along with 850w.
We both love how are bikes are already, so no issue with waiting for any issues with the update to be ironed out.

you need proper mountains for that
If people haven't ever used the walk mode then they probably don't need an ebike for the trails they ride. Ebikes are for the steep stuff.

You can also use walk mode to change gears when stopped. Say you were in the wrong gear on a climb and got stuck, hold the front brake, push forward to lift the rear wheel, engage walk mode and then shift into the gear you need.

Also handy for oiling you chain when hanging on a stand.

Had my first ride with the update today. I only use Turbo so all comments are connected to my experience in this mode.
Battery consumption was typical. Rode a very familiar loop and at the finish the battery was at the same level it always is.
The power increase is immediately noticeable. Torque is also improved but it’s subtle compared to the power gain. Power feels like it ramps up quicker, but wonder if it just feels that way because there’s so much more of it. Staying in the right cadence zone is even more rewarding after update. Definitely have to get used to the new tune because the ceiling just got significantly higher.

I had a 10 mile ride in the Forest of Dean yesterday, unfortunately knackered my rear tyre so had to stop , rode in auto minus on my s-works , unless it’s me but I felt my bike felt more sluggish than it did before , I know the ever deflating back tyre wasn’t helping , but kind of wish I didn’t download the update .hopefully I get a better go at it next time out .

All this messing around with specialized regarding updates is kind of ridiculous if I'm honest 😕 it's either right or it isn't, also it's silly advertising a 600wh battery when it's not even available,

So the energy consumption is smaller because you drive with more power with the update, right?

Specialized has sorta dropped the ball on this whole update thing IMO. They need to get their crap together before all the DJI bikes start showing up or they will be left in the dust... PUN intended.

@Powerslider

You're too much of a Specialized fanboy. :) Thats a joke! :)

I guarantee Amflow hurt Specialized's sales this last year. The Avinox is more powerful than the Levo. Then letting customers test a tune, come on. Now they are having problems with the walk mode in the update. Ive owned 8 Levos and absolutely love the Gen4 but it is behind the Amflow/Avinox. If you don't think Specialized is shaking in their boots about the release of the Avinox to other brands you are mistaken. The Avinox motor is far more superior. I got to ride the Forbidden with the Avinox and was blown away how smooth and powerful the motor was. My next bike after 8 Levos will have the Avinox motor with AXS and smooth shift... if they eventually make an extender. Thats the only thing the Levo has on the Amflow.

Just did a 67 mile urban ride with 1100 feet of elevation, using the extender and had 18 percent battery left...
