Avinox M2 SL

Frame only weight is going to be difficult to get much lower and still be durable. That and wheels, the next two heaviest parts next to battery/motor. It's the same argument with components, there's a durability/reliability threshold you cross and weights savings becomes minimal at best before you paying a lot to walk your bike home.

Lighter motor and Light-Ebike is indeed not the same...
Avinox has already prooven, that there is no need for light-emtbs, with a sub 20kg full power bike...

To me it's not the same thing a Trek Fuel LX, full enduro build, 580 wh battery at 20 kgs and an Amflow trail frame, 600wh battery paper tyres & parts at the same weight.

You can have a Mith sub 21kg full enduro build with 600wh battery.
My trusty old 2019 turbo levo was also only 22kg with enduro tyres and zeb fork.

interesting bit from the upoming forestal avinox info page:

somebody "forgot" to add the motor name ;)

I though the M1 was the higher end version though? It's lighter correct?

The M2 will use the same M1 housing, but it will have different internal components and deliver 130 Nm and 1300 W
So M2 will be the name of the higher end model? I figured M1 name would be retained for the top model and M2 would be budget model.

If you read the description from Forbidden you'll see the exact specs, no need

Please check my previous post below in this same chat (Nov 20, 2025 - Post #82)

"Yesterday I saw a video on a friend’s phone showing the new M2 prototype. The Avinow app’s configuration screen showed 1300 W and 130 Nm. I asked him for the video, but he told me it is still under development and that he could not share it with me."

Forbidden > super-secret video on a friends phone

M2 specs are 120nm,1000w,2.8 (ish) kg.
You can see on the Forbidden page it comes on a new tier 4 spec which is a lower end spec.
The updated M1 should have 130nm and will arrive on higher end models.

To be fair to him, the Forbidden dealer I got mine from told me about the Dreadnought and higher power/torque numbers as well so there is definitely some truth to it.

Bigger battery, new screen/motor and all should be backwards compatible is a big plus again for Avinox though. Hopefully they come true.

Hello,
The M1 engine will disappear and only the M2 will remain. The Forbidden thing is a mistake; the engine will be presented after the Chinese New Year, in March. There is a huge embargo on it. Avinox has taken production away from a brand that revealed real data about the M2 in its advertising. It has also sent an email to all brands and shops prohibiting them from saying that the next bikes will come with M2. The secrecy is total

Interesting. Which brand got blacklisted?

Bikes are so fast they crack your screen!

I understand they don't want to cannibalise their 2025 bike model sales, but this is such a weird embargo situation where we have loads of brands proposing bikes for April/May delivery, but we have no official information on what they will have and whether to expect an upgrade.

I'm only interested in the battery, all the brands are quoting 600Wh and 800Wh, I'd be super bummed if I paid over 6k for a bike with an 800Wh from one brand (e.g. crussis/megamo) then Amflow release a virtually identical bike with a 930Wh battery the same month at the same price!

I preordered a druid yesterday and was hinted it has a different motor but was told they have 600wh or 800wh batteries.
