Levo Gen 4 Gen 4 Sworks and Non-Sworks New Firmware Coming Soon (Yes, Really !)

The update for the comp Gen 4 does not make it the same power as the S-works.
Gotcha but very close , 810 watts 105 Nm and 850 watts 111 Nm I really doubt anyone could feel the difference between the 810 and 850 watts but I could be wrong any way in super excited regardless the part that interests me the most is no backlash from the motor once you reach its limit and as far as the reports go you can now pedal through on your own power and the battery longevity

Defo, if they only release the gradual reduction in power as limit approaches in this update, it will make most people happy with the bike (and also get fitter themselves without even noticing!)

I really only hit the Class 1 limit while going downhill so there’s really not going to be much additional work being done from me at least. Sounds nice to not have the bike feel so different at the limit.

The rumors about the update started September last year and still it's not official out and this week Specialized picked some random owners to be beta testers does not sound very professional cuz usually companies do all the testing themselves before they release a new software or hardware.
Also Specialized try to convince ppl that Levo 4 was delayed since they wanted to test it out thorough before releasing it but everyone knows thats not the reason but they wanted to get out as many generation 3 as possible.
This ain't good enough Specialized but very annoying and definitely bad for the brands reputation.
German EV are done just look at BYD (Build Your Dream) they're releasing tons of new better and cheaper cars in all groups this year and Avinox is also Chinese.
Do the math.

I emailed specialized rider care with all these concerns and they said watch this space there failing behind the times rapid I'm afraid, I love the gen 4 but this certainly ain't giving me confidence in the brand knowingly they are giving random people beta updates

Not only Specialized but all European and US brands should be afraid it's almost as if they don't believe what's happening in China regarding Electric Motors & Technology.

Don't over drama this guy's, previous updates were done at the LBS - this is now done over the air.

Most of the survey was geared to get feedback on the update process, not the update itself - so that's why it's being tested in batches with 'random' people.

You have a good bike, appreciate it and the update will just make it better + you will be able to do it at home ....

I possibly expressed myself incorrectly since you clearly missed my point regarding Specialized.

State sponsored reduction in the cost of capital is a real thing.

Yes indeed, On the broader picture, competition is changing fast. Chinese manufacturers like BYD are releasing multiple new platforms this year that are both cheaper and better equipped, as well as Avinox for example. A major factor is access to significantly cheaper capital. State supported reductions in the cost of capital allow faster scaling, lower margins, and more aggressive pricing. Surprisingly it creates downward pressure on prices for consumers as an added benefit.

Received my update email. Bike comes out of the suspension shop this week so it’ll be a really fun next ride.
Really really hope they are doing a roll out went and rode a super techi bike park today and it’s the perfect testing ground for the upgrade cause of the hills and up hill rock gardens etc etc Called Wolwespruit (wolfs river) roughly translated it really is a lot of fun ) So Ya really really excited to see , also mate of mine has the Pro Gen 4 I’ve got the Sworks so once the upgrade is done we will see (he’s slightly faster down but slower up ) once the update is done it’s gona be Racing time🤪⚡⚡⚡⚡🤪🤪🤪🥳

Don't take victory in advance, S-Works update is much smaller compared to the Levo so it would be a hard kick in the b if he smokes you up 😂

yes, because joe shmuck next door definitely knows about this. you can hang with the other entitled one for sure, lol

So anymore news on this update? Also the people that have it will it get taken off u at a later date or is it yours to keep, it's also slightly annoying that you pay somewhere in the region of £12.500 for a s works model and now there's bikes that cost a lot less with more power, thoughts ?
S-works getting more ponies too

Had a email this morning for my s-works update , wasn’t expecting that , took about 25 minutes to do I think , had a quick back to back ride with out update and with the new update up the road as it was about to flipping rain again , everywhere round here is under water so not getting out this week , unless it’s me it actually felt a bit sluggish , the big noticeable thing was the wall has gone when you reach the speed limit , also from new I always said that the power selection should have been auto, eco , trail and turbo , which it now is , however I think it’s actually better before , eco auto trail and turbo , cause if you want more than auto is giving you have to go through eco to get to turbo . I know it’s only a short blip though and it’s a case of getting use to it .

Don’t know anyone in SA that got the update, guys at TBS also nothing , and it’s a specialized shop probably cause we don’t feature on anyone’s radar we so small

I got the email and did the FW update yesterday. It appears they're sending out to a lot more folks. Planning on testing it tomorrow. Plan on filling out the survey as well which I hope all that got the update will do. Give Spesh our feedback hopefully they will listen.

I was told by a Specialized rep it went to people with the most recorded miles with the Specialized app.

My wife has done 10x more mileage than me, but she didn't get an invite. I don't think that was the criteria.

That’ll be why I don’t have it then.. I don’t record any rides on the app.

I don’t record rides with the Specialized app. Maybe just people who use the app and racked up a certain amount of miles? They obviously know when and how the bike and app is used.

Don’t think so ,had my bike two months and done 1300km and heard and seen on this group people with low millage getting the update
