Honestly, every time I get a reminder on my e-mail that someone posted, I really hope its someone that has feedback regarding the fw upgrade :))) seems that doesent happen.

I think it's had enough turmoil already in the last 12 years and 22 pages (excluding all the deleted posts) of waiting for the update.

Please, continue with only humans being annoying.

Ok back to the main question we’ve had two responses
Bike is a lot more powerful and smoother power output
Has anyone on a Sworks tested the software
How is the increase in wattage
How does the new 0-100 work ? (Is it even called that still)

This is my 8th Levo and Im actually surprised I dint get the email. Was there any rhyme or reason for the ones sent out?

Ok guys I've taken the plunge! mainly because the update firmware became a banner in the home screen rather than just an instruction via email with details to check through.
It didn't take long and I did it at 100% battery but the display did worry me while it was running as it said do not unplug - I probably should have paid more attention at beginning as am sure it would have said to be plugged in lol!!

Anyway i've got a fairly flat 30 mile ride planned tomorrow to compare against both bikes, so I'll feedback then in full.

Initial go round the block after update and I believe it gets to speed a lost faster in turbo, it hard to tell tho, the surging at the limiter is definitely gone, it's a lot smoother there which is good news as that was majorly frustrating.

Pulling a wheelie in eco was no different, but felt more controlled in turbo as less zoom, drop, zoom, drop when near full speed.

Our eco is turned down anyway to 25/25, and that's probably how we will do the ride tomorrow, so that should allow a battery compare - previous rides I pedal a few rpm faster than my wife and over roughly 40 mile journey's we come home with only 1 or 2% difference between us, so let's see if the consumption but with equal settings is any different.

Lastly the menu has definitely changed order which is obvious, off, auto, eco, trail, turbo ... Which is way more logical to me.

Will update tomorrow!

Any other features other than power upgrade and the reshuffling of the power setting ?
Like maybe
1.free shift / Coast shift (Not auto shift)
2.Soft Shift? (to stop changes from snapping)

Nope. Specialized is snoozing.

Hi, update as promised :)

The bike is vastly improved!!

The smoothness as you reach the limiter is night and day different, as noted last night on the quick test it no longer surges by clicking on and off, so it is much more enjoyable to ride, it feels natural to pedal at the speed limit now and over by increasing your own power without hitting that dead wall stop feeling, if this is the only change we get this time then I'll be a happy man.

While I used eco for 99% of the ride, the menu re-order is better as it makes logical sense.

In terms of battery use, I think it's more efficient now, likely because of the reduction of power at the top end - this is backed up by us returning home with me at 50% remaining and my wife at 41% - even accounting for the 1 or 2% difference we normally have over further distance, there is an improvement there.

I'm still not sure if I can notice the difference in NM when in turbo mode, it's not like this bike struggled at any rate but I probably need to go to a few steep hills to test them both, with some willful thinking it does feel a bit more spritely although I would be hard pushed to quantify it

What do you think of the battery consumption. Have you made any comparisons? Cheers!
Yep!

Details in the post above the video - mine used 9% less than the pre-upgraded bike, on a 30 mile ride.

For comparison, we did a 35 mile ride 2 days previous and we were between 1-2% different, which mirrors all other rides we do.

I always put it down to me pedalling just a few rpm faster than my Mrs on average over the ride, so I must shift earlier, we are within a few lbs of each other too at just under 11 stone each - so things are quite equally matched.

So anymore news on this update? Also the people that have it will it get taken off u at a later date or is it yours to keep, it's also slightly annoying that you pay somewhere in the region of £12.500 for a s works model and now there's bikes that cost a lot less with more power, thoughts ?

That’s the way the cookie crumbles I’m afraid . You buy the best , then something else comes out better . Like that with everything you buy unfortunately.

Hoping the update works good on the bikes it’s been installed on , haven't seen or heard any comments anywhere about issues think the two or three quick updates before were to get the actual firmware to work on the bike correctly , and yup should of kept the Comp Levo 4 was half the price and with this update now had the same power , I’d put the XO group set new fork Asx dropper etc on it so would have been the same, anyway lesson learnt

My thoughts are power is such a small part of the bike, but unfortunately power sells stuff… more power = better, but it rarely actually means that.

How much power can you actually use?

I’m looking forward to the update mainly for the better battery management reported here, I can think of only 1 climb where a bit of extra power will be beneficial to me.

The update for the comp Gen 4 does not make it the same power as the S-works.

It's ours to keep, they couldn't force a downgrade as people could choose not to update - it takes 20-30 min and requires the bike to be fully charged or plugged in, they couldn't risk forcing it with no choice as it could fail and may brick the bike

the entitlement in this one, delicious

@Eduardinior I have!

Today we completed another 30mile ride, 4700 elevation this time and the extra nm is very noticeable when compared to my mrs without the update (just maybe not to self, like looking in the mirror daily and thinking your hair hasn't grown!)

Anyway eco me is equal to auto- her, which is now broadly 100w motor power I believe, but even still I have come home with more than 10% power difference again - this is certainly because being over the limiter is so much more natural and you go over speed via 'human power' without noticing as the start stop & dead wall has gone, so you're essentially riding without the battery in use etc.

In terms of power eco at 25/25 is more powerful than before, and equal to whatever auto- gives you pre update, I know this because we rode equally before with speed and battery mostly matched (+/- 1 or 2%) - but now I get to speed quicker and she commented today she feels less fit than before even tho it's not true, just a virtue of the bike power difference

I don't think there will much more to add now, I'm thoroughly impressed with the update, mainly for ride quality at the speed limit but I've fed back to specialized via both the survey and the email address on the update email to say all of the same things I have said here :)
