Hello forum,
Does anyone have experience replacing the shifter on a Scott Patron eRide?
Has anyone done this before?
The cables are routed internally through the frame. The outer housing is still in good condition.
I only rode the bike for a few weeks last season and wasn’t very happy with the SRAM SX shifter. It feels kind of vague and doesn’t give a good, precise feel.
After reading up on it a bit, I’m considering replacing it with a SRAM GX shifter.
My only concern is feeding the new shift cable through the frame.
The idea would be to leave the black outer housing in place and simply slide the new inner cable into the existing housing.
But if the housing isn’t continuous, how do you get the cable through?
Replacing everything with new housing probably won’t make it any easier.
I can’t find any access point in the top tube near the rear shock,
and in the down tube there’s the battery mount.
Any tips?
