Hi, over the past couple of weeks I made a new app. Mainly for myself, but now think its probably useful for others.

1 - Trail conditions. Shows you local trail conditions based on several environmental factors
2 - Custom suspension setup advice. Based on your information
3 - Explore trails. Shows recommendations based on where's best to ride

If anyone is interested in testing it - here’s the Beta.

Its definitely not ready for full release, am interested in finding bugs / weirdness and just generally what people like and dont like.

iOS only, will probably need latest iOS release to test.

Thanks
Rob

You’re on the right track. I’m no beta tester but these are things that interest me…and a few more.

I have about 8+ different apps on my iOS phone for mtb’ing. I bounce around to different apps for different uses but 95% of those are rarely used. And of the one that I use the most …(Strava) I only use 15% of those options.

There’s no “one” app that does it all for me …almost impossible. But there are things that are important to me.
GPS. Maps. Weather. Friend finder. My location. Geometry settings. Maintenance schedule. Trail conditions or ratings. Warranty date. Bikes and details.

I know this may be an EU only app at this time and some options may not be easily available. But I see potential here. But that’s just my wish list. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Of course a link to EMTB forums. 😉

amazing thanks. Could you rank those things you listed in importance to you?

Rob

But there are things that are important to me.
Reminder of wife's birthday and wedding anniversary function - as there's a risk it will be the one and only app you use in the future and missing those will result in less bike time, it's therefore vital bike time related information.

GPS. My location for friends. (A safety feature because I ride solo). My route travelled. (Date, time, speed etc). Trail conditions and weather. My bike geometry and maintenance schedule.

I don’t know how many things you can cram into an app but there’s many things that don’t apply …to me.

A one-stop-shop would be nice. 👍🏻. There are so many members here who have many different wants and needs …could be difficult to satisfy everyone. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

I'd like to test this please? Planning on a lot of riding over coming weeks as I'm currently out of work as of tomorrow :)

A weather history would be good. Surrey needs a good few days to dry out, some parts are better than others. I currently do this in my head by checking weather regularly and trying to remember how its been recently as I'm about 40 miles away from there.

HEY! Yesterday was January 14. I thought it was Valentines Day. I laid the greeting card were she could easily see it when she returned from work.

“What’s this?” She said.
“Happy Valentines Day!” I was so proud of myself.
She bursted out laughing and then said “what’s wrong with you?”
🤦

Yes, a calendar for special days would be a nice idea 💡 too.

Thanks. Can you message me your apple ID please? I can add you to the list.

Good idea this!

I think its a cool idea. But if its just checking weather models and telling you if its raining or not and basing it on that i see limited value in that as i can easily look up and weather forecast.

As James states, some bike parks take days/weeks to dry out. Some are all go straight away. If you are travelling a distance it would be really nice to understand the actual conditions on the ground.

What i think would be quite powerful is collecting the historical data on each bike park and making recommendations based on how fast/slow that individual bike park drys out. If you somehow allow users to upload a track condition rating on a track or bike park in real time then reporting or integrating live data would make for very accurate recommendations.

User input recording and reported on something like the below conditions.

Bring a kayak its a river, WET AF, Slippery, damp, drying out, good conditions, Hero Dirt!, dryish, getting dusty, Dusty as shit, slippery dusty.

Also general bike park ratings.

Trails well maintained, just been re-built and mint, New trails are sick, few track getting blown out. park is unmaintained, park is fully blown out and shithouse.

Thanks for feedback.

It looks at location, soil type, historical rainfall at the location, elevation, predicted drying time and a fair bit more to calculate trail conditions. I didn’t want it to be just a weather app.

It also knows over 500 trail locations worldwide and can recommend places that might be best suited for particular conditions. Eg areas with steeper higher altitude tails might be recommended more than lower flat areas.

This is in the model at the moment. It will need more work, but this concept is baked into the app.

App is now approved by apple for public testing. Link here:

About 50 testers so far thanks for joining!

If you are unable to start because of a missing Invite:

“Please do this:
1. Open TestFlight
2. Tap your profile (top right) and make sure you’re signed in with your Apple ID
3. Force-close TestFlight
4. Reopen this link: Join the PlushApp beta
You should now see Install instead of ‘Ready To Test’.”

If it still doesn’t work:
• Log out of TestFlight
• Log back in
• Reopen the link

Installed ok here. I'm going to give this a whirl this weekend. Couple of aftermarket mods not currently catered for: Vorsprung coil conversion and Push damper, not sure if that adds too many variables?

I also joined to become a test mule.
But according to our weather, it says hold off. No ride :D
screen shot?! Hows the conditions compare to what your trails are like?

Today I went out and surrey hills is actually terrible trail conditions (not raining though but had 21mm rain yesterday)

Would it be possible to change how the Rockshox fork settings are told as they have a different approach than Fox.
How many clicks from the middle -/+

yes, this is important actually. On the list, thanks for finding. (its in the instructions, just not on the actual fork setting card!)

I’m not sure if this is part of the testing for qualified beta testers …but the title of the thread has me perplexed. 😕

“ Intellience App Beta Testers”

I don’t think I qualify …and I’m not even that intelligent either. 😉

First priority is to make the scoring logic better. Today was absolutely saturated in Surrey. But was scoring a 6 because no rain and higher temp.

It definitely wasn’t a 6 overall, it needs more of a penalty because the trail state was diabolical!

Not app related, just my lack of knowledge .. but what is "Intellience" anyway ???
