Thank you for the reply! Its all chinese whispers, smoke and mirrors, hearsay and plain old guesswork at the moment.....
Your'l have to hurry up and wait with the rest of everyone else to find out.
If you want the latest Avinox offering wait until spring this year before buying anything. Sea Otter Classic should have a lot of new stuff announced.Thank you for the reply!
Yeah I can't find much about it.
Several years ago I bought a Megatower V1, and a few months later the V2 came out. I wanted to try avoiding a similar situation
But if it is going to take until after summer before bikes with this motor come to market, I am planning to buy a Megamo now.![]()
No matter when you purchase something new and better will be released shortly after you purchase. That is the nature of a technology product.Thank you for the reply!

Yeah I agree with that!No matter when you purchase something new and better will be released shortly after you purchase. That is the nature of a technology product.
Decide when to draw the line in the sand and purchase when something tickles your fancy.
Then don't look back. Own it and enjoy it.
Fair enough. But does it come out in 3 months? What if its 6 months or 12 months?Yeah I agree with that!
But when a new motor comes in 3 months time, I rather wait
I also found that a pity with my Megatower back then![]()
Lost track of where it was posted or what the context was, but there was a Forbidden Druid listing showing the M2 motor and people extrapolated from that we may be seeing a downgraded/upgraded/sidegraded motor, with more power/less power/same power and whatever else suits the narrative they want to drive. If someone has information of other bike manufacturers stating they are releasing a bike with the M2 motor for 2026 I haven’t heard that anywhere. Maybe I’m wrong, just haven’t see that anywhere. Unless the M2 form factor is going to be exactly the same as the M1, including battery, Manufactures are already locked in and testing 2026 bikes because engineering the frame/suspension around the motor/battery is not a quick process.
You're talking about the bike, right? This is discussing the motor - so if you want pretty colours for the casing, you'll be somewhat disappointed.I was hoping they wouldn't change anything except add more colors and a better extender.
False! The M2 is heavier because it develops more power. This engine is coming and will equip several brands. Here are two examples: Mondraker and Forbidden, but there will be others…Rumors is M2 is a bit more heavy due to material used therfore cheaper with most lightly less punch.
M2 is for a different marked than M1.
Sorry of course you are right about everything like facts and rumors.False! The M2 is heavier because it develops more power. This engine is coming and will equip several brands. Here are two examples: Mondraker and Forbidden, but there will be others…

If you are happy with the current M1 which is still superb, just buy what you want now.
Yeah that I would like to know. If it's 12 months I will just buy the M1.Fair enough. But does it come out in 3 months? What if its 6 months or 12 months?
Merci pour la réponse !
Ouais, j'aimerais savoir. Si c'est 12 mois, j'achèterai simplement le M1.
April 2026Thanks for the reply!

The deal is that the M2 uses the same mounting pattern so it's a direct drop in with no development needed.
These will be in people's garages and on the trails by April 1st.
I cannot believe DJI/Avinox would be that stupid - I'd hope that even if the packaging got smaller, there would be some way to mount an M2 on an M1 frame.I thought I saw a Pinkbike article that indicated that the bolt pattern would be different. I'll see if I can track it down.
Because we need more power, higher battery usage heavier motors and bigger batteries and dog heavy bikes?False! The M2 is heavier because it develops more power. This engine is coming and will equip several brands. Here are two examples: Mondraker and Forbidden, but there will be others…
If it is changed it would likely be because of a engineering requirement not just for shits and giggles.I cannot believe DJI/Avinox would be that stupid - I'd hope that even if the packaging got smaller, there would be some way to mount an M2 on an M1 frame.
It would be such an easy win for them.
If I was a bike manufacturer customer of Avinox, I would hate that idea. I need to sell new bikes, not someone else's motor.I cannot believe DJI/Avinox would be that stupid - I'd hope that even if the packaging got smaller, there would be some way to mount an M2 on an M1 frame.

Opposite. Someone in the comments says otherwise but at this point who can really be trusted to know what's true.I thought I saw a Pinkbike article that indicated that the bolt pattern would be different. I'll see if I can track it down.
This take seems to reinforce the notion that nothing external with M2 has materially changed. Namely, just internal improvements and refinements, which TTYTT is all Avinox needs right now. Some kind of bash guard mount point would be helpful though. No question, that the motor will be out in April at this point. Heading straight to Sea Otter to behold one.Any manufacturer who is releasing a 2026 bike with a new motor from Avinox would have it in their possession already and would likely have several. This would also be the case for the battery. Engineers need time and testing with frame design which doesn’t happen quickly. I don’t think Avinox has a whole new design for 2026. Maybe 2027 we will see.
