I don’t think it needs to (my opinion) , they both great bikes This upgrade will be awesome even if it’s not as fast as the DJI
I have a absolute JOL riding my Levo with its power as is with the extra power yooohhhh it’s gona be even faster up th rock gardens
Need to wear more protection 🤣🤣🤣 was at a park jump line yesterday and shees it was actually really allot of work riding it
On my normal bike I would ride it maybe 8 times on one line with my Levo I did three lines like 10 times each super fun
 
Power update to 850w is confirmed. Select people from specialized already have this update (saw one bike myself). No idea how this will be split s-works non s-works. Should roll out this month. OTA details being worked. These bikes were updated manually
 
According to Specialized app the peak power is 860w with current firmware. So much more it will be with the updated one?
I have non sworks version.
 
Here, moottorin teho is motor power. This is today's ride. Most of the time I used auto -.

Same for me, in a typical Ride protocol you can see the Motorsystem power output, But I think it is the electrical power which is drained from the battery
, not the mechanical output power of the motor, which is basically stated by the manufacturers:

You can find here how motor power is estimated:
Motor power mechanic
  • Unit on display: Watts
  • Estimated as 80% of battery output power, since no motor reaches 100% efficiency

 
I’m almost positive the earliest way to know for sure the Update is available is when your App will update it will go from 1.B.4 to the expected new Firware

That’s peak power. 850w nominal meaning average power over time. I believe this is how they define it. All these motors can peak way more than nominal. This info was published at one point when they did Ebike motor comparison. 850w nominal should be a really good boost to keep up with amflow boys!

I thought nominal power is 250w at least in Europe.

It is, poster seems to be confusing nominal and peak power ratings. Current S-Works motor is 250w nominal with a 720w peak output. I'm almost certain Specialized (and others) maintain 250w nominal on motors across all regions regardless of different regions laws for simplicity sake but I am open to correction.

In the USA motor is 750w nominal and peaks well over that. As users on here have reported seeing power spikes well over 800w. You are not climbing the way these bikes climb if the motor is putting out average of 250w.

If USA emtbs had 3x the nominal power of the EU versions we would have heard about it by now. I already said the bikes can sustain a higher output than nominal for long periods but eventually they will overheat and derate.

Even the DJI Avinox is listed as 250w nominal output despite having a 1000w peak output.

Nominell is 250w in Europe peak power is whatever motor it is (500w - 1.000w) and the peak is going up/down (250w - 1.000) so fast and many times you won't notice it (less than a second) but it's possible to go past peak power with leg power and then you get peak power + leg power.
Sample peak 720w + leg power 80w = 800w
 
The phone app update may or may not be related to the new bike firmware. It doesn't necessarily suggest anything.
