Sorry! I meant the comment on high engagement hubs and VPP not getting along. As a “Thank You” to his return customers, knowing they sell out fast.
I did put a pre-order in and had some i9’s I was planning to use.

Oh sorry. Correct; pedal kickback due to the rearward movement and chain growth of VPP.He was asking about high engagement hubs on VPP platforms.
It’s probably because they cause more pedal kickback.
Thank you! I’ll have to do some more investigation around this. Is it really noticeable and affect performance, or something slightly annoying?Oh sorry. Correct; pedal kickback due to the rearward movement and chain growth of VPP.
You'd be better off with some DT350's with lower engagement and the possibility of adding the DT degrees of freedom Anti-Pedal Kickback Hub upgrade if you deemed it necessary.Sorry! I meant the comment on high engagement hubs and VPP not getting along.

But I've never been a fan of the i9 hubs either so take it with a grain of salt.
Due to high torque of Avinox setup, I definitely would not recommend sidekick hub as it wont' last.Anyone running the sidekick on their crestline? I see reserve offers it as a hub option. I’m thinking I may go that route. Wondering what setting is necessary with the 180 travel.

Almost 1000 miles on my Cresty sidekick. It runs flawless and near silent, especially after a lube job. I had doubts about anything E13 but I've seen pretty much zero complaints about it. I run it at 18 degrees and honestly don't notice the deadband. I've run some sort of kickback device for a while and it's something you get used to. Any drawback pales in comparison to the benefits of kickback device, IMO.Anyone running the sidekick on their crestline? I see reserve offers it as a hub option. I’m thinking I may go that route. I see reserve site offers that kit too. 0, 10, 20 degree options. What did you land at on yours? Was install pretty easy? Idk if reserve wheels installs it prior to shipping or not.Due to high torque of Avinox setup, I definitely would not recommend sidekick hub as it wont' last.
DT Swiss 350 or 240 with DEF kit is way to go, it will be far more reliable setup.
I’ve loved Onyx hubs on two different bikes, so that’s my plan on the Crestline. Who actually has used them on a VPP bike and can comment on kickback?
Ain't that the truth. In fact that's the closest anyone is gonna get to an unencumbered rears suspension experience short an MGU bike with belt drive. One can only assume it's there, but only you can decide if it bothers you.
Maybe take your chain tools with you and at the top of your favorite descent pop your chain off and ride down and decide for yourself.
You can't buy anything Avinox in the states right now. Hoping that changes.Late to the party, only 600wh battery left in my size. Any trouble sourcing an 800wh in the US?
Well I hope so also, just pulled the trigger. You can't buy anything Avinox in the states right now. Hoping that changes.
Funny, I bought the 800, but def want to snag a 600 at some point. Id imagine they will be available in the US, as they are readily available in the UK. I believe ill run the 600 more, as I really wanted this bike for hot laps at parks like Jarrods Place.Well I hope so also, just pulled the trigger.
I had a gen 3 and currently on the gen4. great bike but definitely looking forward to the crestline. The Levo 4 was intriguing to me for that reason because you can run it with the extender and no battery. Then I rented one and didnt have a good experience with it. I think my expectations were too high and it kind of felt like a let down. That was my experience anyway. Would I have bought one if I didnt land a dot 2? Probably![]()
Same story here. I also have an Amflow and the Avinox drive unit is incredible. Could use a bit more stability going down, and sounds like the Crestline will be the best of all worlds! Now I just need to sell my gen4 frame before AprilI had a gen 3 and currently on the gen4. great bike but definitely looking forward to the crestline. Maybe I'll see you at Jarrods Place!!
Pretty off topicSo what options are there for a dual crown, inverted, coil sprung(stock or aftermarket spring) fork that will work? I only know of the Manitou Dorado right now.
Surprising that so many RH2's are left. Obvious sizing is personal, but with the average height 5-10 ish the RH2 to me is the right size. +30mm longer for the RH3 makes an already big feeling bike feel even bigger. Not a lot of bikes left. A few RH2 variants, and the only RH3 left is white/vivid air/600wh
I’m 5’10 and went rh3. Reach is 5mm longer than my amflow large and I feel cramped on my amflow. The crestline has more stack height though so I should be able to run 35mm rise bars now and be about the same as my amflow with the 50mm bars.Surprising that so many RH2's are left. Im 5’10 and have a rh3, average lg bikes seem to be ~475 reach, crestline is 480 and you can adjust plus/minus 5. Wheelbase is a tad longer than the large bullit i had but reach actually feels the same. I think it would be cool to be able to test an rh2/3 back to back but since its impossible i went with the 3 and its fine. Essentially same geo numbers as the other bikes/sizes ive ridden.Surprising that so many RH2's are left. Pm’d youIf anyone in the states needs +/- 5mm works headset I have a brand new one ill sell for cheap
