Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

From what I could tell it seemed to be within the next week or so but it's kinda out of their control. Just got to wait for them to clear
I was told August then September then October then November then December, my concern is I don't ride in the winter months so when April May comes around there will be a 2026 bike out

my friend just got the e druid lite and is loving it! i own the normal druid but couldnt bring myself to drop money on one due to the sizing...and cost :ROFLMAO: his is such a clunky shifter though. Guys a great mechanic too but he cant seem to silent the gears. Motor was also alot more noisy than my amflow

Seems a shame not to ride through the winter, I'd just wait a wee bit longer and get the Druid.

Unless you ride mad chunk enduro and want an E Dreadnought but I honestly think the Druid is more than enough. I've ridden mine on most of the chunkiest/steep Enduro stuff that Scotland has and never once felt it was out it's depth or lacking in anyway. Means it also doesn't feel awful on the more modest flow stuff as well like the bigger bike would.

My motor is silent compared to my mates Amflow, Doesn't make that much noise when riding either and gears arn't any noisier than any other bike. Do notice a bit more noise form the Idler when in the first couple big gears but it's not that bad

I’ve ridden since 1996 in all weathers but at the age of 61 I’ve decided I’ve had enough of getting cold and wet

68 here Rich with a similar story. Mind you the winters here in the Bop are not that cold or wet so still get out in the elements a bit. Tell me how are you enjoying the Druid e? And what was your last rig?

Anyone fitted slightly longer cracks to their Druid? I’m looking around at what’s available on the market for the Avinox motor and there aren’t that many that come in 150mm. I had a set of Hope 155mm on my Whyte Bosch power bike and liked them. Seen the Pinnd cranks and these are either 145mm(!) or 155mm. I really like the Cane Creek Wings but these are 160mm, but significantly less overhang.
Thoughts and feedback on the crank length and how it effects the ride and pedal strikes etc?

I put some 165mm eWings on the Druid yesterday, I'm hoping to get some riding in this weekend to see how it goes. That said, this bike has the same BB height as my last two analog bikes (Stumpjumper evo - 333mm Low setting, or Deviate Highlander 2 - 335mm, Druid CorE - 336mm), and I got along just fine with those bikes with 165mm cranks, rarely strike pedals in all kinds of terrain so I'm expecting it to be a non-issue.

Very curious here. What advantages do you find with longer cranks?

Nothing particularly profound, pedaling just feels weird when chill riding in eco with 150mm, I've been on 165mm for a long time and prefer it, and not really expecting the extra 15mm will affect me much for pedal strikes.

Contacted this company to see if the bash guard would fit the Druid. Said there getting one to confirm fitment in the next couple of days. Will post soon as I know

Interesting. Would be good if this could be extended in order to protect the chainring also, without adding weight. All the Avinox based bikes seem to expose the chainring due to the motor being so small I assume. I have noticed that the new Valduro Rouge has an extended motor housing that protects the chainring though, which I think is a great idea.

If you weren’t going to ride it anyway what is the huge problem? Sounds like you need to relay the disappointment to the shop you’ve bought from and not a forum.

If you have to have the latest things then cancel the order and wait for the latest one…

I didn't say it was a huge problem Just disappointing not knowing when or if it will ever arrive

Anyone fitted a Rockshox Ultimate coil to a core, was just wondering if it was a good upgrade

I have one on there for last 200 miles, I'm happy with it, no harsh bottom outs even with big drops and accidental over clears on large jumps, It's much nicer than the Vivid Air that came on it imo. I'm 64kg/145lbs and run 490 spring with about 25% sag, middle settings on the damper, -1 HBO. It feels supportive without being harsh, my feet never complain on this setup after long days of enduro style and jumps.

That is a LOT of spring at your weight!

Bigger guys are going to struggle to get a heavy enough spring to achieve the correct ride height on the E-Druid.

I prefer to be oversprung with the coil for supportive ride. That said it's pretty close to the spring calculators that say I should be riding 475lb spring for aggressive riding. I'm guessing not everyone wants 25% sag, but I agree if a heavy rider wants a similar setup they may struggle to find high enough spring however they are also probably going to rely more on a good damping setup to slow things down, but I don't think that is DruidE specific. Said riders may also get along way better with air springs than I do.

While we are talking shocks how many reducers are you guys settling on for the vivid air. I am up to 3 at just under 30% sag and that feels like it's starting to hit the sweet spot although I haven't been using all the travel even on the hardest hits and biggest drops. That has surprised me. Although I guess it's possible the o ring is slipping down before I check but I don't think that's the case
