Currently I have a Whyte elyte. Bosch sx motor, 400wh battery and 250 extender. It's been a great bike but time for exchange.

I've seen the Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 HPC SLT 800. On sale at great deals. Plus a lovely red/bronze colour.

Specs says 23.5 with the 800wh battery.

Firstly, can you fit the 600wh battery for shorter rides?

I appreciate it's a very different beast to my current bike.

For 6k gbp I can get top spec which for a big travel, cat 5 bike seems a great deal. Especially as you can swap batteries over quickly

177 SLT owner here.
No, you can’t swap the batteries I believe. The 600wh battery is shorter in length than the 800, therefore it wouldn’t sit on the terminal and catch.

Hmm, will have a good look. I'm sure I've read people using the 600 and 800 in n the same bike.

Are you happy with the bike?

I’ve just searched and the 800 and 600 are the same dimensions, so your query shouldn’t be a problem.
Yes, I’m very happy with the bike.
There’s a couple of good threads on here regarding the 177, with lots of info.

I have a massive thread and a video on YouTube about the bike already, but to wrap things up: still happy with the bike 9 10months later, I run a 600Wh for lunch break rides and the 800Wh for weekend rides.

Still the best deal out there I reckon even before discounts

Yes, that is what I found. The SLX fits my needs exactly as a fan of Shimano XT.

Hi, did you need an adapter to fit the 600 battery? I’m interested in this smaller battery. Cheers

Do I understand that the 800 and 600 batteries are the same size.
Nearly. The length and width are the same, but the 800 is 10-12mm higher than the 600. A bike designed to work with the 800 can run both batteries, but one designed around the 600 cannot.

Yes there is nothing to do, you can swap the 800 for the 600 in about 20 seconds. Just need the key.

I've just bought a 177 Actionteam model, great spec for the price of 5k (sale price from Wheelbase) back in August.
I should also say that this is my 3rd emtb that I've owned.
Two things I don't like and I have forwarded this back to Cube in Germany....1 the headset cable routing 👎 and 2 the motor 'Bash Guard' is very poorly designed, Out on the second ride, I ripped the thing off! crossing a fallen tree. There's only one front fixing holding it on (see attached pictures) the worst design ever.
I came up with my own solution and fix ....again have a look at the pictures. Basically I bought a 'ProGuard' £60 and modified the original bash-guard so that it would have a proper rear fixing point to the frame, this involved gluing in a fixing plate to the rectangular hole on the back of the frame (best to drop out the motor)
This has worked out to be a great fix 👍

Nice fix that 👌🏻 I got tired of catching and ripping my motor guard off, to the point of it not fitting correctly anymore. Replaced with the AVS one and it’s been sound ever since.
