Hello everyone who love Bafang DIY build. Here is my new DIY build with SZZS CEF69 Frame and new Bafang M510 3.0 version. Battery 48v 700Wh version, new version Jean told me it has 48v 835Wh with carbon case. I got the external 280Wh battery extender but not yet put it on bike.
With this build it weight about 21.5kg.

Initial test I rode 34km with 870m Elevation gain, using mostly on Tour, Sport and Sport Plus. Just use Boost only twice just for test still had 79% battrey left.
Bafang M510 new 3.0 controller is better than previous version, it is smooth and natural. Power delivery is predictable according to our leg torque. And I think it has more battery efficient. Battery reading is very accurate and linear.
For the frame it is so far the best Bafang frame that i ever use (about 6 different frame). Handling is so good, stable on straight downhill, nimble and comfort on climbing.

For the sound of Bafang M510 3.0 version u can watch on my youtube short here :
When climbing sound : - YouTube
When downhill sound : - YouTube

This new M510 controller can connrct to Bafang Go app flawlesly with DPC.030 display. Can tune all of assist parameter.

Here's the video : - YouTube

Hi, what weight did you get? You know the 835Wh battery weighs less than the 700Wh battery. I'm Jean's colleague in Spain and I'm glad you like the CEF 69. In a couple of weeks, we'll have the CEF69 in size S.

Already said 21.5kg. 835Wh battery not available when I ordered. Jean said it only 15gr lighter. This the first CEF69 frame production according to Jean.

The 720wh is already available in carbon and weighs a little less, but for the 835wh it weighs almost the same and has more autonomy. I am a distributor of the SZZSbike brand in Spain. If you are going to order a CEF69 size S, tell Jean my name Charly or I can give you the price myself.

Very nice, I am about to order the same frame.

Did you use carbon wheels for this weight?

What made you choose the M510 3.0 over the M560? I have a M620 right now, and I just worry I will miss the extra power.

Did you apply frame protection film? If so, which one? Thanks!

Ciao @temon10, potresti essere così gentile da misurare l'altezza da terra del cofano motore?
Un'altra domanda: pensi che la taglia M sia adatta a una persona alta 175 cm?

E13 alloy rims. M510 is enough power and also m560 heard a lot of people complain about the loud sound.

Does the battery comes with canbus BMS or it is generic battery with + and - only ?
What rear shock did You used for this build ?

Thanks

Frame spec is 170mm front but for the moment I use my Fox 36 150mm, I think the bike will be better on the right fork length.
BTW I'm 160mm tall and this frame I build is size M. Next I will be order size S.

Hi Temon10
Nice bike, congratulations. I wanted to ask you if you've tried the AUTOMATIC and BLOCK functions.

generic, not canbus. Rearshock using Rockshox Deluxe Select with megneg 205x60. Frame can use 205x65.

how to activate? let me try
I don't know I don't have the M510 engine but as you can see there are some new improvements like the smart assistance I think I read that you have to be in sport+ for the automatic system

I would like to point out that that is the RS model so the firmware is different but in the Bafang info it gives smart assistance also in the normal model I believe the one with the V3 controller version

I was reading the info on the C030 Display and noticed that maintenance needs to be done every 5,000 km, with a workshop key notification on the Display.
I'm attaching a photo.

It is a very nice build. How does the quality of the frame feels? Does it look good inside the frame? Is the engine restricted in speed?
I am so close to pull the trigger for a build like yours even though I already have two ebikes 😬 but first I need to find out if we have anti-dumping taxes in europe on ebike parts from China 🙄🙄

Szzs offers DDP terms directly on their website, so no additional import taxes as far as I'm aware.

Regarding the speed, it depends on the firmware of the motor which cannot easily be changed after the fact. Just specify if you want the unlocked or eu firmware with your motor. You can use the Go+ App to set max the speed later (but not exceed the firmware limit).

I don't have the bike but im strongly considering building up a CEF50 or CEF69 in a mullet setup myself, as I already got a decent carbon wheelset.

If you do decide to pull the trigger, please keep us updated!

I can give you a quote for the CEF50-69 frames. I work with Jean from Spain for 20 USD. If you say Charly in the order, you can ask whatever you want.
