pedal harder? Get fitter and stronger? Or just do as Jens says and say "Shut up legs and do as I tell you" (I am sorry but I do not do a German accent very well)Is Amflow planning a battery extender? If so what size and any pics? We do 30-40 mile rides with 6k-9k vert.

I don't understand your mindset. You know the limits of this bike and yet you demand to push the limits. With that sort of mindset there isn't a range extender big enough to satisfy your demand. The only thing that will change is that people will then go "I want to do 50 or 60 miles and want more range". Once again, it's not a motorbike. If you want to go further, pedal harder. When I'm up in the mountains I like to ride near daily after work. I've got a couple hours and either want to do laps of what I know - where range isn't a problem. Or ride off into some unknown or unmarked trail where I have no idea where it goes. I don't have enough time to be in Eco and go that far.
This is why I have a 909Wh bike so I can still do something new without worrying about getting back after dark. Weekend rides are different and I'm down to push through that but I still want the extra safety net. There's clearly a market for this.
Thats because you have a problem. Let people ride their own ride. He asked for help not a lecture.I don't understand your mindset.
That's the thing though. I regularly do the sort of rides he is saying he can't without any issues. It's not me that has the problemThats because you have a problem. Let people ride their own ride. He asked for help not a lecture.
Where have I judged them? I am simply stating facts that are extremely basic and self evident. If you get fitter, stronger and lighter you WILL be able to go further, higher and faster. There is nothing judgy in that. And as a range extender for this bike doesn't exist yet it is really your only option. I might also add that there are limits to all things. You wouldn't take an ebike on a multi-day adventure ride for instance. It is just not the right tool for the job. So if you are pushing the limits of rider and bike consider that maybe you are choosing the wrong tool or that maybe you need to reconsider your goals. I've done a 65 mile ride with 8000 feet of vert on a fully rigid single speed. Once. Took me 11 hours and I was wrecked for several days after. I don't actually remember much of the last few miles other than pain and misery. I had reached and pushed past my perceived limits. It's amazing the punishment a body can take. Why do you judge what he wants to do? He is not you, get over yourself. There are a bunch of us here locally (Teton Range) that outride the available range, especially if the ride focusses on many long, extremely technical, rocky climbs. And we are fit, light, and veteran riders.
I also ride a lot in Perú, we do rides that can go basically straight up for 9-10k. After that, (in eco)you have no personal energy left, either, so the dh‘s become dangerous as fvck with fatigue, altitude, and exposure.
To each his own, Para cada uno lo suyo, À chacun son goût!
(not an ebike, but this is an example of what we go UP, and then back down, for 1-2k metres of altitude…)

Seems to me you are saying that had you used a decent emtb for that ride you would have been able to do it quicker without the pain and indeed had that bike been fitted with a range extender it would have given you a greater safety margin or you probably could have gone further, just asking?I've done a 65 mile ride with 8000 feet of vert on a fully rigid single speed. NIce I have family in Lima and they own a lot of Oxapampa. The mountains in Peru are epic! Been to most places in the country.I also ride a lot in Perú,
I just ignored him. He has no clue the trails I ride. Where I live most people don't even ride the trails I ride. I use to do them on my analog bike for almost 30 years. The rides would take all day. Now I can do them in half the time. Now that Im in my mid 50s I like as much battery as I can get. My average rides are 7k-8k ft vert and 30-40 miles. Our climbs are usually 1000ft vert for every mile. Then when we get to the top of the mountains we can ride a long ways. Why do you judge what he wants to do? He is not you, get over yourself. I don't think safety factors in anywhere. In fact, it is probably the other way around. If I get really tired I tend to use the down hills to recover and slow it down and go hard on the up hills. So the risk is lowered. But yes, I would definitely be faster on my Levo or my Amflow with less effort compared to any of my analog bikes. That goes without saying.Seems to me you are saying that had you used a decent emtb for that ride you would have been able to do it quicker without the pain and indeed had that bike been fitted with a range extender it would have given you a greater safety margin or you probably could have gone further, just asking?
On a general note, like most people, I have had more than enough pain in my life without, at my age at least, having to endure more while participating in a sport/hobby that should help me stay fit.
So you ride where other people don't. You used to take all day but now want to do these rides 3 or 4 times a week in half the time? How is it possible to ride a bike for 30 years and completely mis the point of recreational riding? Dude! With that sort of view point, if you get a dirt bike you could do it in half the time of your Amflow and do it 2 or 3 times a day. Or, you can turn down the power settings, go a little slower and enjoy being out there.I just ignored him. He has no clue the trails I ride. We do these types of rides 3-4 days a week and often back to back. It's nice to have some battery so you dont wreck yourself and can ride many days in a row.

You might learn one day, on a racetrack the faster rider on a 400 will pass a Ducati liter bike all day long, even if the Ducati rider is fast as hell.then get a Motorbike
None of your fkn business. 10 - 2Why do you need range extenders?
Its called fun dude! try it sometime. Your goals and needs are different, let people be free! quit trying to control other people.mis the point of recreational riding?
I'm not at all worried about what other people do or likeWhy are you so worried about what other people like or do?
I have a new Levo too with an extender. I have the bike turned down as low as I want to go and I still drain the batteries in my big rides. I ride in Auto- a lot.
I don't recall asking for a solution. Maybe you should reread the original post. How about I buy you a plane ticket and you come ride with me? You can ride in ECO all day and Im willing to bet your bike will be dead before we finish.I'm not at all worried about what other people do or like. You asked a question about a product that doesn't exist. I gave you a solution that is guaranteed to work. You and some of the other people took offense to that. I think that's funny.
LOL ... yeah that's why the field is full of 400CC bikes at the Moto GP. Wow.You might learn one day, on a racetrack the faster rider on a 400 will pass a Ducati liter bike all day long, even if the Ducati rider is fast as hell.

Pretty booked up for the next 6 months but I might take you up on that later on next year.I don't recall asking for a solution. Maybe you should reread the original post. Some of us have health issues. Some of us are older and are instructed by our medical physicians, to not exceed certain heart-rate parameters.pedal harder? Get fitter and stronger? Or just do as Jens says and say "Shut up legs and do as I tell you"
What part of a range extender doesn't exist so if you want to go further your only option is to pedal harder don't you guys understand? Some of us have health issues. Some of us are older and are instructed by our medical physicians, to not exceed certain heart-rate parameters.
The reasons for some people wanting the EMTB to do more of the work, is many and varied, and frankly, none of your business.
This thread is not about you. Solve the issue requested by the OP. That is a range extender. No one is reading this thread to be lectured about putting more effort in.
I'm glad you think you are so funny. What part of a range extender doesn't exist so if you want to go further your only option is to pedal harder don't you guys understand?![]()

I fail to understand the need to be so condescending. What part of a range extender doesn't exist so if you want to go further your only option is to pedal harder don't you guys understand?![]()
