No stores in the entire sf Bay Area. Seems like a missed opportunity by bike shops.

The BB at 350mm is not low...What were all the settings on the bike set to....What was the sag....What tires and pressure?I rode the new Specialized, my buddies son got one.
2 things I really disliked about this bike
- its bottom bracket is WAY too low, especially when the suspension is compressed and the cranks are too long. ITs a pedalstrike machine.
- Weight and the old huge battery
I'd say Amflow blows this bike away, especially for the price.
The motor was nice though. But not the Amflow
When you get to be around 80 and your wife's rear looks odd....you best not tell her!!Gen 4 S works , down tube just looks odd.
Thats what I want to hear. My EP 801 this year alone has 2900 miles and 370,000' in the last 7 months.200k+ of Elevation and almost 4500 miles on a single Avinox
Lots of ppl say it but my eyes it gives the impression of power but I like that not all bikes looks the same.Gen 4 S works , down tube just looks odd.

Lol
But this is an up to the minute design, or so they say.
Yes I agree the new Gen 4 does ride very stable. Not really what I am looking for though, prefer something with up to the minute tech that feels lighter and agile, I bike that I feel at one with, that every time I ride it even after 1500 miles I am just blown away at just how well it rides. That’s the AMflow. Not sure if you’ve seen the rest of the Specialized e-bike range, including the road/commuter and cargo bike stuff?
They all have a certain ‘look’, not one I particularly care for if I’m honest, but if you put Uncle Fester in with the rest of the Addams Family, it looks a bit less odd!
They do ride well though, to be fair to Specialized.

lol,You’ve got an AMFLOW?! You hadn’t mentioned it mate?!
It’s good that there’s a bike for everybody at the end of the day, to prioritise whatever it is that’s important to you.
As long as people are out riding, what’s not to like, I just dislike all the tribalism that’s grown around it all.
lol,
So now AMflow are going to be sold in Specs backyard..
The problem the other bike manufacturers have is that if consumers get to have a test ride on a AMflow first. I just can’t see any reason to buy any other bike that is currently available, it’s so far in front. The well respected long established bike store that I use here in UK that sells many brands says that’s it’s going to take other bikes 2 generations to catch up with the latest technology from DJI, and AMflow. That’s good I think, one thing I love about the Avinox system is its given the established players a lot to think about.
We as riders should all benefit in the long run, but I fear we’ll have to out our hands in our pockets to fully benefit from it too!![]()

This is very good news since nothing is better for the consumers than competition soon most other brands will be better and hopefully cheaper otherwise they're out of the game.it will be interesting to see what in particular Bosch and others comes back with now that there’s an Avinox tank parked on their lawns
Completely agree. For lots of people the fact that its in such a compact package that allows a more minamilist frame design makes a big difference. There's a lot more to the system than max power, like fast charging, lower system weight, app ecosystem. When you look beyond the headline power figure, it’s clear there’s a lot more to Avinox than just that, it will be interesting to see what in particular Bosch and others comes back with now that there’s an Avinox tank parked on their lawns…

Fully agree with this , just what some needed a wake up call. It’s not just that bike rides so much better than the others, it’s the complete package and when you add in the price, the others should pack up. I really hoped after the first ride on the AMflow last September that others step up, but not a chance from the ones I have ridden thus far. This is very good news since nothing is better for the consumers than competition soon most other brands will be better and hopefully cheaper otherwise they're out of the game.
Looking forward two years down the line.
It's quite impressive how many of the suggestions from the Amflow support thread have actually made it through to the bike. Not just tacked on either in some barely accessible sub sub sub screen, but neatly integrated into the app and the bikes screen - everything's so easy and logical to select and adjust to set the bike exactly as each person might want it - even down to switching the order of the modes with a swipe ! Makes everything else look and feel like a 1980's Nokia. That as well as the lightning speed that they update the motor / introduce new features.
It blocks mud and debris really wellGen 4 S works , down tube just looks odd.
Not really, this is exactly how they took control of the drone market... giving people exactly what they wanted / asked for. What is really interesting is that the same approach is what led to so many laws /restrictions on those Drone systems. They are already calling out the eMTB community on the 750w restriction, and spat in the face of it by releasing the SW to unlock the 1000w constant. For the record I like DJI, they build quality systems. hopefully their presence with continue to disrupt the market in positive ways... time will tellIt's quite impressive how many of the suggestions from the Amflow support thread have actually made it through to the bike. One of the worst pieces of design I have seen on a Modern E bike.Only the dirty ones...
I mean if a fat downtube is your gauge for design so be it. But have you ridden the bike? If the answer is no, then like many you prioritize look over function, and bike function incredibly well. As I have stated I am by no means a eMTB aficionado, but have been riding MTB/MTX all my life. That said before I purchased a Gen4 I rode several other big named eMTBs in the US Trek/Canyon/Obrea/Giant and of course Specialized. They all had +&- to how they rode and felt but neve once did I look at it like a car and its body lines, never mattered as I only care how they perform. I choose the Splesh as an established brand and I have a LBS 5 mins from my house that bend over backwards to make sure my bikes spend more time outside then in the shop. One of the worst pieces of design I have seen on a Modern E bike.
Yes I have ridden 3 of the new Gen 4 s including 2 S Works, i thought that all ride like very heavy bikes, very stable though, prior to riding these I had 5 S works Levos over the past 7 years on which really enjoyed my time on them. I thought this new Gen 4 looks like it rides like a chunky very heavy bike, I much preferred my last Gen 3 S works. The new Anflow is a much better bike in every area.I mean if a fat downtube is your gauge for design so be it. But have you ridden the bike? Most of what I read as design issues with this bike are engineering trade offs, which its your right to say you think is ugly, hell i think its ugly. But it lowered the center of gravity and let them add other features I sure we can debate the usefulness. I honestly believe that people don't like fat downtube as its a dead give away they are riding an eMTB (you all been watching to many IG memes). Me ... I don't care what it looks like as long as it preforms.

My point is at this Price point it’s got to tick all the boxes, if it was a car no matter how well it drove. If it looks sht I would not want to own it. I well recall on launch day standing round the bike with around 10 other Spec owners, we all had the same opinion on its looks. You won’t ever change some peoples opinions, nor is it your job to try and do so, some people are on ‘Transmit only’ mode and will just repeat their view ad nauseam unfortunately.
EMTBs as mostly discussed on this forum are somewhat of a bubble within a bubble, I don’t actually know that many people who have spent thousands of $/£/€ etc on a bicycle of any sort.
Nor do I think it’s common for people who have to be so keen to continually tell everybody else their ‘thing’ is better than your ‘thing’, and you purchased the wrong ‘thing’, and you should think like them and get their ‘thing’.![]()
Sometimes one has to get used to the look.I well recall on launch day standing round the bike with around 10 other Spec owners, we all had the same opinion on its looks.
