With a number of motor manufacturers upgrading the power outputs on their motors, does anyone know if Specialized/ Brose intend to provide an upgrade to their 2.2 motor?

I don’t feel the need for more power atm , I’ve never failed on a climb because the motor wasn’t powerful enough and ain’t bothered if I get up it 2 seconds earlier however I would do the upgrade if it was available ☺️

Given the reliability issues the 2.2 motor series have had that’s unlikely. I’ve had 5 failures including the most recent one after 600 miles of use.

From nov 2019, 4 under Specialized’s warranty, between 1,200 - 2,800…. I paid for a replacement nr 5 which failed after 11 months (600 miles) so I’ll see how nr 6 goes.

With hindsight I should have sold it after one of the motors was replaced under Specialized’s warranty and got something else

Maybe the problem is you, I have the same motor for 3 years and 4000 miles (all of them on dirt). My next door neighbor has a 2023 civic, she was complaining to me that she is on her third clutch in 28,000 miles. I recommend she buy an automatic transmission car. Maybe look into a Yamaha powered bike, they seem to be the most reliable motors out there.

I have a Specialized Kenevo Expert 2022 and love it, but its worrying that others seem to have issues with their motors. I'm lucky that I could afford to buy a newer bike or upgrade the Kenevo, which is what I'm going to do instead of buying a Levo 4, but there seems a lot of negative press around at the moment for Specialized with the Levo not being the market leader Specialized thought it would be because the Amflow and DJI options that came on the market at the same time which highlighted some of the flaws in the Specialized bike. Additionally, i don't think limiting/ reducing the power of all the other bikes power compared to the S Works is a good move. Customer opinions can change quite quickly with negative press and this can impact sales, especially with so many new bikes being released recently, think a software update to improve motor power like the other manufacturers would be a positive step Specialized considering.

Maybe, however I’ve a Bosch, shimano and Fazua motored e-bikes and they are on original motors on far higher mileages….

Soooo, you have 3 other e bikes? And they all have way more mileage than the Levo that has gone through 5 motors…… wow

Why do you think they put 4 years warranty on the earlier 2.1 motors

You must certainly put some mileage in a week if you've got for makes of motor with that kind of mileage
Credit on ya!

I have the same 2022 expert KSL with 2500 mi, no problem original motor. Love it and downhill machine but it's about the lowest power e-bike. Preference all depends how you ride. I think a lot is about the rider, and yeah, my car also has a clutch.. still! Also have a 2018 kenevo FFE bomber with 7K plus miles on original motor, no issues. Different experience, still ride it a lot, super fun 27.5. I don't ride in turbo a lot and use Eco a lot. Maybe that's the difference among those other things??? I don't understand how people go through all these motors?

I try to be careful with water and ingress so don't wash a lot And careful of pedal strikes, ...But enough on personal habits!
