What did you buy your ebike this week?

I'm not unhappy with it, it's black, round & probably fits. White hot patch, so classic box shifter getting their hands on a job lot of oem tyres I reckon.

My 180mm zebs were the creakiest things EVER so sent them off to Sprung Suspension in fod for a complete strip down and rebuild/rebond csu .
The brose motor was scratchy so sent that to Ebike Centre , which needed a sprag thingy and a few upgrades plus a casing as one of the bolt lugs had broke .
I’d managed to brake a pedal so ordered a new SS nano in blk .
Quite chuffed with the cost ;
Susp £200
Motor £250
Pedals £74
🤙

Some spank spike 50mm vibrocore bars to replace the current 30mm ones.
Getting a lot of back pain after a recent accident and am hoping these will help.

Seemingly no stockists in the uk, previously purchased from crc (RIP) so had to order from Italy.

Almost wishing i had ordered higher now, but i can add some 5mm spacers under the direct mount stem if necessary.

Anyone tried these electric inflators? I'm tempted to ditch the mini pump I carry after the last puncture. Twenty minutes hard labour to get a tyre to 18psi is a motivator.

Got Cycplus AS2 last year and it works great but now it's around ten other brands to choose between.

Second this. I got the pro version (assuming they’re different) which replaced a Topeak one. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the topeak, I just ran over it. If I had the facility to compare the Cycplus would probably be the better purchase.

some outdated upside down fork , that was already released in 1995 :D, nice Fox though but I had a pair of shivers back in the day circa 2001 on my Kona stinky dee lux , similar to below , now that was a fork

Haha! I had some monsters on my stinky around 2005 with some bomber rims. That thing was a blast and an OG mullet rocking a 26/24 FR mullet. God I miss that tank.

Mrs irie's 2022 Trek Rail still has the original MT4100 levers and MT420 calipers. Figure the calipers which have resin pistons will sooner rather than later cause problems. Saw a front and rear Shimano M6120 brakeset for £109 (45% off) on merlincycles.com which was too good a price to ignore, so bought them. Will upgrade Mrs bike and as usual will say nothing, but will also be interesting to see if she notices the much nicer levers! 😀

(Also come with D03S pads worth about £15/set which will go into the spares box for future use because have recently fitted new D03S pads which will transfer to the new calipers. A nice £ future saving of 2×£15=£30, so the effective cost of the brake upgrade is about £74).

Good man maths

I went to this and love it:

Bought it a new car .... well, sort of. Wanted a vehicle I could put a hitch rack on so I wouldn't have to use my wife's car (where I am not allowed to adjust the mirrors or seat when I drive it).

More importantly, bought a Stealth Hitch tow bar. Completely hidden when the receiver is removed.

Just a word of caution on the smaller tow hitches on cars. Verify how it is mounted. On my Infinity G37, the previous owner added a hitch. He used to take 2 road bikes all over. I did the same, it worked great with my road bikes. But then, we bought the 2 E-MTBs... Sag City. I crawled under there & found out the hitch was just a plate mounted to the aluminum bumper reinforcement. This is a Reese hitch.

I now only take the truck, which is too bad, as sometimes I'd rather use the car.

Thanks ... had it installed at a reputable shop. It replaced the reinforcement beam and they gave me the old one. This is the hitch (2014-2024 Porsche Macan & Macan S / 2022-2024 Porsche Macan GTS / 2014-2022 Porsche Macan Turbo / 2023-2024 Porsche Macan T) and there's no way to really install it without replacing the reinforcement beam itself.

VERY nice. That is definitely a nice install. The owner of my G37 had installed a hitch, and it bolts to the old aluminum member. It worked fine for years, until my wife and I bought the new Hecklers.

A new XT chain, SLX cassette, XT derailleur and Sram UDH gear hanger. Plus a Nobby Nic for the rear wheel.

I also bought a Bosch lock ring for the chainwheel and a suitable socket for it. However, the chainwheel was out of stock, so I have to wait a week or so.

The cassette is of the 10-45 type, since I never use the lowest gear on the 10-51 Deore cassettes I have used before.

The derailleur and UDH got wrecked by a dry branch last weekend.

Will try to get it all installed today.

Some bits and bobs for a new amflow.

Still deciding if I should buy a fork, I have a lyrik on my mythique, I could swap and sell the 36 performance for decent money if it’s unused.

The 38 perf elite from Merlin looks a great deal and could fit to either

Just had delivery of a Rockeater tune kit for my Manitou Dorado forks, ordered a few weeks back from Shockcraft in NZ😎

IMG_8419.jpeg

as it’s made to order and shipped half way around the world I’m not complaining about the timescale 👍

IMG_8418.jpeg

Also ordered a clamp tool to assist with maintenance😎

The forks due a full service so this has landed in time for this (but this means I’ve got to actually do some work 🫣
