What did you buy your ebike this week?

New ebike owner, but decades MTB'er... picked up a '24 Rise H30 pretty much for the frame, so I'm a an upgrade tirade at the moment. XT drivetrain, Hunt wheels, PNW Loam dropper, RF bar/stem...some Wolftooth bling. Everything has been on sale, so not too bad so far. I managed to move the WTB Volt saddle and my grips from my analog bike. :ROFLMAO: VeloSwap is coming on Nov. 1 too....

I was searching my tool box for a particular size of spanner and I came across three brand new looking flex-head ratchet spanners. I don't recall ever buying any, nor borrowing any, so it's a puzzle. But I was blown away by the awesomeness of these things! :love:
They are open ended at one end and a closed ring spanner at the other end. But the ring has a ratchet inside. So you can tighten stuff in restricted spaces. Turn it over and you can loosen! In addition, the ring end is hinged through 180 deg, so use in constricted spaces is a doddle. I was so taken with them, that I wanted a complete set straight away. Not really for my bike, but they look and feel great!

I got this set of 12 (8-19mm) by Qnkaa from Amazon. They are nicely polished chrome vanadium steel. £34.

My electrician grandson came and he loved them too, so I gave him the three mystery ones. :)

I also have an identical "Halfords Advanced" set in the garage but have absolutely no idea if/when I bought them. Maybe someone gave me the the set, j'ai n'aucun idee

It seems like I’ve had these forever. Both metric and standard. But the purge was on after I retired. I slowly gifted tools to family and friends. Tool companies must have taken a serious hit after I retired. 😉

My tool collection was much bigger than her shoe 👠 collection. 👍🏻

If you buy from the original company, Gear Wrench, or another of the more expensive versions, you get a lever that locks the angle. These things are super useful, I have both Imperial and Metric versions. The only downside is that the head is a bit larger than a regular combination wrench, so they don't fit everywhere.

Speedframe will be returned because the BOA closing cord interferes with the sides of my sunglasses. :rolleyes: So will stay with the TLD A3 for now.

Bought 2 x Deore 12 speed long cage derailleurs @ £28 each, one for wife's Rail which is getting very 'notchy' and one to go into stock. Use BBB RollerBoys (BDP-09) instead of Shimano pulleys because they roll better and also don't have holes in to get crap caught in them.
 
The only moving part is the spring really. The two causes of notchy Shimano mechs is a dry or dirty clutch or one that is over tightened. People overlook clutch tension because it's a faff to set & no one ever buys the special tool for it. If the mech is notchy but clean & lubed, then backing off the tension almost always restores them. There's really nothing else to go wrong with them.

Bought some Madison Crypto Air glasses for riding. £45 with a dark mirrored blue lens, a clear lens and an amber (looks pink to me) low light lens. Wife says they can’t be worn in her presence! Look like they offer enough coverage for winter (and sunny alpine) riding though.
 
Preparing for the winter down to -20 celsius and found these at 30% discount.
I have tried all types of gloves but when it's -5 celsius and lower my fingers always freeze to ice so if these don't keep me warm nothing will.

This week I bought new brake pads and a Maxle front axle for my Scott strike 920 I have also had the bike serviced and it is now ready to ride for another year, I have had a great year riding it most days and have enjoyed the time out in the country off road in the woods and hills.
 
I’m new to Arizona so I went with a local recommendation when I bought my Levo4, and been using Conti Kryptotal 2.6 enduro in soft (not super soft). I want to try a DH casing and a softer compound so I ordered some Maxxis Assagai 2.5 MaxGrip DH for front and rear. Also grabbed some Wolf Tooth valves and Orange Endurance formula sealant for the swap.
 
Just bought DT Swiss HXC 1501 Spline One Boost 30 EXP Wheelset 29" from Merlin Cycles for £800-£25 voucher = £775

Never planned to buy new wheels, but at about half price (?) couldn't pass them by.

They're XD so will need to convert to Microspline for my 12-speed Shimano drive train. Also Centerlock so will need 6 bolt to Centerlock adapters for my 6 bolt 220mm rotors.

Edit: Changed my mind - happy with what I have because current wheels will take any level of abuse. So cancelled the order.

That's an excellent price.
I already have a set of 29 hxc 1200s and I've been looking to buy a rear 27.5 hxc 1501, but haven't managed to find just a rear wheel wheel for less than £700.

Keep the Assegais for the front, where they are excellent! But they are really draggy on the rear. If you like the Assegai on the front, try the WTB Trail Boss on the rear.
 
A new LG CN500 chain (Linkglide) for the extremely reasonable price of £17.99 delivered from Leisure Lakes Bikes. Don't even need a new chain as the one that's on is still going strong at 1500+miles and 0.3mm wear. But at 18 quid delivered from a reputable dealer it's a no brainer.
And I could always join the wax and rotate club, being a flash git with TWO chains 😀
