Newest firmware update 2017/2018 levo

if you have BLEvo app you can hook it to your bike and ride it to see what the max watt output is, I get about 770w from my 1.3 motor which was changed out under warranty cos the old one was underpowered only putting out about 550w

Nice one, I'll down load it and try it, I think the 1.2 and 1.1 are 550w aren't they?

Cheers

I’ve only ever got 571w out of my 1.2
10.23 & 5.0.0

I wish I could get more .....
Try getting the motor updated to 5.0.4 i was told that the update was for better heat management at high workload you might get a bit more power at the top end

Yeah maybe, only ever seen 42deg c with the motor. Spesh only quote 530w peak, i’d Be happy if I could crack the 600w

Where do spesh quote the peak motor power? Do you know what it should be for the 1.3 motors?

MC says my 2018 Levo, has battery 10.22.3 With 1.3 motor has firmware A16.3 ?? anyone know what this is, and do i need to get an update ??

To tell if your bike is affected, it will have a) felt dramatically under-powered after you had the update and b) you can check in the Mission Control App - Diagnose - Battery - Current (scroll to bottom), whilst riding if the current doesn't rise above 15A with a 1.3 motor (uphill may be easiest to test) in Turbo (100/100) you are affected. If it gets close to 20A you are not. The solution is to revisit your dealer and ask them to re-run the latest FW update on your motor, then re-test.

Update on power issues... It seems that any replacement motor that came out of the factory was set at Brose standard output of 15amps and not Specialized output of 20amps, it should not have effected motors that were not replaced under warranty, but I have heard of power losses after updates. The test is in the post above, if affected you need to take it back to your dealer or a good lbs that deals in specialized and get them to force the software through again. I had mine done Saturday, was showing 14.4 amps and now 20.2amps, not been out for a full test ride due to weather but will do soon, the confusion is it is still the same 5.0.4. firmware

My bike hasn't got a replacement motor. Just do the AMP check as above. Mine is only 14.6 A. Having firmware forced this wee

5 I think? Turns out it was a dirty plug (it looked fairly clean)according to lbs but I haven’t got bike back yet to test as waiting on new rear axle

I thought that might be the case... I’ve had the same experience and have only been able to get decent power from a 5.0.0 motor (although my original was 5.0.4 and had the power? ?)

I’m in the same boat. Mine is the original motor but only getting 14.4 and firmware is 5.0.0. Just tried my mates and his went to 20.2a on firmware 5.0.4. Felt the difference straightaway. Lbs going to have a look this week.

So, after some more work on mine, it's confirmed that to get into the 700+ watt range, regardless of motor firmware being 5.0.0 or 5.0.4 you need to have a 20+ amp motor. I was reliably informed that Spesh are/have made it possible for LBS's to make this change now (i.e. increasing the amps)

Let me know if you need more info...

Mine seems to have been the plug, which I find hard to believe but I took it to lbs when it was going fine they updated it and then it was gutless. Cleaned the plug with contact cleaner and now back to normal if not more power, new software maybe more sensitive ?
Maybe coincidence..

Took mine in to Don Skenes and they updated to 5.0.4 and I’m getting 20 amps out and I can feel the difference instantly.

Morning

Has anyone had the latest update on the 1.3 motor in the 2017-2018 levo? I've had the latest update and it's shocking! Has killed all power and torque. Even with turbo at 100% and max everything it is a shadow of its former self lol. I did also have a replacement motor at the same time for worn out bearings.

Tia Chris

Sorry to hear - sounds like the FW did not load correctly on the new motor. Please ask your retailer to repeat this update and you should be back in business. For more info please see below.

I have a 2018 Kenevo that is maxing out at 15 amps. If I go to the new firmware I assume I'll lose my speed hack? Also, I assume in Turbo mode the battery will drain 33% faster?

Not sure if Rider Care will answer this question ;), but after the update you will still be able to change the wheel circumference with a 2018 Kenevo. For this you could use either Lightblue or BLEvo. (last app is recommended)

Further I don't believe you will drain the battery 33% faster as you will only consume more energy in peak situations and not constantly.

Worth adding that 2018/19 Kenevo Comp uses a 1.2E motor with a 400WH battery. If you have this model, then motor current IS limited to 15A - this typically uses 75% of the power of the 1.3 motor to preserve battery life.

Ok, I took my wife's 2018 Levo in to my local Specialized shop and they were able to upgrade the firmware on the battery and motor so that it is now outputting 20 amps +, so that's great.

Next I take in my 2018 Kenevo expert and when I get it back, the motor firmware is now set at version 5.0.4, but the battery firmware is still stuck at 2.23.1, so the motor is putting out the same current as always -15 amps.

The Specialized dealer doesn't know what to do now. When he hooks up my bike to their system, it shows that the latest battery firmware available for my bike is 2.17.1 and that 2.17.1 is currently loaded. They basicly shrugged their shoulders and gave me back my bike.

What should I do now??

I did hook up my wife's battery to my bike and it felt the same power wise (guessing 15 amps). With her battery on my bike, my specialized app is not registering the battery so I can't see the current flow...

Anyone have any ideas?

It's not the battery FW that needs updating, it's your motor FW that has the issue. Sorry - please see this link, point 1 - Power smashed through the roof - EMTB Forums

Alright! That worked, just had to force the update through 3 or 4 more times and it finally took.

Thanks for the support!
