My bike came with XT BR-M8000 2 pot front and rear with 203mm rotors. I've just upgraded the front to the new BR-M8120 4 pot XT caliper and i am very happy with the power, feel and ease of bleeding. The new 4 pot Shimano brakes are a lot easier to bleed than the old 4 pot 520/820 saint/8020/etc
 
I have Saints on my acoustic and mt7s on my ebike. They are both great brake systems but my personal favourite is the MT7s. Their consistency and slightly better power and modulation are what wins it for me
 
I run RSCs with 220mm rotors on the ebike. They work brilliantly but need bled a bit more often than I would like. I have MT5 with 223mm rotors on my other bike which are fantastic. I am sure they would be just as good on the ebike.
 
Running 4 pot CODE RS with MTX pads and GALFER 223 F and 203 Rear...mo better modulation and the bite is hard when coming in hot!!

How much difference did you find between the 2 and 4 pot calipers? I'm thinking of doing the same, but it looks like there is only a 10% change in stopping power which doesn't sound like a massive amount?
 
Another one here with mt7s on my Moterra and saints on my acoustic Zerode. I used to be a Saints fan Boi until I got the Maguras but they win hands down. Power is about the same but bite consistency is the big winner here. Two years with them now and have required very little maintenance. Fit and forget really

definitely Hope,I use E4’s which have been flawless for ever.
 
Stupid to run high end rotors if you ride often. any rotor that is the cheapest that is 220 and 2mm thick at minimum.

Been running sram HS2 for price and longevity with shimano 4 piston calipers and levers with bucklos pads at 3.80 a pair.

I bet not many here are dropping 500,000 feet a year

No difference in the caliper on a e-stop , I found the lever to be awful .
Swapped to Shimano xt levers and 100% improved especially with Galfer Purple pads .

Have always been a Shimano XT fan. But my new Amflow came with the MT7s. I'm a convert. I get much better feel when modulating them.

I have fully converted to one finger braking, because I'm so confident with the brake. Wheelies and Stopies are now much easier to learn.

I have found suitable pads on AliExpress, which are very cost effective, and braking has not been compromised. Though they do wear a little quicker.

I run the SRAM Gold Centreline 203 Rotors, which are AUD$20 each, on Aliexpress. They also work really well, as well as looking good.

Same here.

Bucklos are thicker and bring your lever out further than those weak Shimano pads. And at 3.80 a pair I can swap them out every 3 weeks and its no biggie. Verses 20 bucks for shimano and 5 weeks change out time.

if you can get the 220 rotors, best upgrade ive made to my Canyon. Im happy the Amflow does not have CL rotors. Opens the door for cheaper rotors. Ill look at Ali for pads for mt7

Also if your high miles kind of a rider, the Sram Hs2 are 2mm thick and last longer than 1.8s and still fit in my Shimano calipers

I shopped them today and ebay, they have them and a new group of 2.3mm rotors for ebikes.

CL are the hard ones at 220

I get a lot of carpel tunnel from so many miles and dropping over 350,000' so far for this year. So I need 220 rotors. A lot of segments my hands get numb if its a long segment when im at KOM speeds.

I've been running some alixpress 2.3mm rotors on my downhill bike with some slx brakes and have been very happy with them. It took a little to true them out of the box but they have been flawless. I'm going to convert all the bikes to them eventually.


Good to hear about the bucklos pads. I'll have to give them a try.
