If you know how to talk, it was not hard to get a refund. I did not want one, I like riding this bike. Ive logged over 2000 miles since this all started, and have not missed a day of riding. And ill have 2 batteries soon, and the $266 was spent a long time ago for the delay. The delay is BS however.

It's true, only in some of these batteries the housing has cracked. I've got more than 300 eur for "not using bike" but in real I can use it, nothing is stopping me and I'll get a new battery and in real I will be able to use both of them (old one is 100% good). I don't understand all this whining. I'm a happy Canyon customer. It's a realy good bike and riding it gives lots of fun.
You are partially right, but on the other hand, March is almost over, and no batteries have been shipped. And Canyon, again, keep the silence. What a company, what customer support.

It appears that shipping of batteries ordered January is starting, info from local forum.
Just received an email update from Canyon. In brief delivery delayed until May and 900w being provided as these are available sooner. And further compensation £/€/€ being offered.

I wonder how that would work for those with size S frames? A 900Wh won't fit. Perhaps that communication is sent to those with size M and above and the available 720Wh's will be first sent to size S frame owners.
Moreover, some people just don't want a more heavier bike ...

I got the same letter from Canyon, same BS, 900wh battery, and to make matters worst, they let me know ''Your earliest possible delivery is currently scheduled for May '', so they leave the door open for later months

We Have Been Patient, But Enough is Enough! 
For months, we have waited, complied, and trusted Canyon as they handled the Spectral:ON battery issue. We accepted their recommendations, followed every step of the replacement process, and remained restrained and understanding despite repeated delays.
But let’s be clear: We bought our bikes to ride them, not to wait indefinitely.
We have missed countless rides, lost valuable time, and watched our bikes sit unused for over six months—and still, Canyon cannot guarantee when we will be able to ride again.
While we understand manufacturing challenges, this is not our responsibility to bear. Many of us no longer trust this process and want a full refund—a choice Canyon must respect.
The more refunds Canyon processes, the faster they can deliver new batteries to those who still want to ride with their bikes. This benefits everyone, but only if Canyon takes action now.
Sign the petition now to demand that Canyon takes responsibility and allows some of the affected customers to receive a full refund. We deserve better!

I would like to add that the first refund in November and paid to me in mid-December was related to an email that threatened a solution in February 2025, an email from the end of January postponed the solution to March, now the second refund covers from March 31st to the time the battery will be delivered. In my opinion they are forgetting March.
Yesterday I argued with Canyon customer service to point this out. Clearly it is not for 100 euros more or less, as I pointed out to them the business is theirs, then each potential customer forms an idea of the company also based on how they handle situations.

Well, got an email yesterday from Canyon
Stating i will get my battery in May. Also im getting a 900wh battery instead of the 720wh that was fitted , as the 900wh batteries will be ready before the 700wh. Also they are giving out another payment. I guess its better than nothing. Im fortunate that i have another bike, if i hadnt i would have asked for all my hard earned cash back.

my bike will be an ornament for at least 7 months f*&k it i'm sending it back. You pay extra for a bigger battery and end up getting kicked in the nuts for it. They can stick their £130 per month compensation up their saddle sored arses. Back to YT for me.
That is what was stated in the original email last year, Only time will tell if that turns out to be the case.

I've made my own posts about this whole nightmare and I've been frustrated with Canyon, more and more as this has gone on so long. Initially when I received the notification from Canyon, I thought I'd just continue riding my bike until the new battery arrived. After all, I'd literally just gotten back from a mountain bike road trip and had been riding the bike on the previous two days, unaware of any issues. Nevertheless, I removed the battery and performed the inspection and found no sign of any issues or problem areas. But over the next several days, as I read everything I could find in forums and industry articles about Canyon's battery recall, I made the decision that I should follow the recommendations and stop riding my Spectral:On CF8. After all, I thought, there is a potential for a catastrophic accident to occur, also the end of riding season in Portland Oregon was drawing near, and finally I could still ride my analog bike if I wanted to.
So here we are now with over four moths gone, rapidly approaching five months without riding my Canyon. I skipped my winter road trip thinking I'd have a new battery in March and could hit the road then. Now, the latest from Canyon says I won't receive my new battery until JUNE!! June! I've now seen multiple posts on this thread from other riders saying they have just continued riding all along and are anticipating having TWO (one new, one old) batteries soon!. And as this continues to drag on, I'm wondering if I overestimated the risk and have been foolish for not riding my Canyon. Sure, I have ridden my analog bike, but has the time come to just start riding my Canyon and quit waiting for the new battery? I know I'm the only one that can decide, but I've been thinking more and more that I should just ride my Canyon!

You shouldn't but you can.
Keep in mind that YT also uses custmozed batteries from the same factory Simplon=Trendpower.

While I have nothing against Shimano, the policy of leaving companies free to create their own batteries, which are better suited to their frames, has proven to be harmful to us customers, perhaps because they have not gone through adequate quality control. Better the policy of creating a closed system as Bosch did.

I have been told this morning that batteries started shipping last week. I ordered a 720wh battery and I didn't get an email about further compensation. They just said ill receive a shipping confirmation soon
It is pros and cons option the same time. You may not know but 1st and 2nd Gen batteries from Shimano were a lot faulty ones. They are topics on this forum explaining why Shimano removed the battery Heath indicator from their app as range was being missing after each ride. So for me custom batteries where pros in Shimano case and for now as I have Rise with custom shimano battery all works great.

both my bikes had this battery situation and never caused a problem to me, i dont live where there is rain but i washed it daily for a long time with high pressure water everytwhere. Also had on the truckbed while on a blizzard with ice and showers. Rusted the whole drivetrain but the bike mantained itself strong
By now i nevert stopped 1 ride, and have recieved $ and batteries are incoming...
My experience in other brands has been 5000 times worse. They just never aacknowledge any problem and offered nothing untill i had to ask for a refund with mean words.

Just explain your case, don't judge others. Let's say your are lucky. Mine has cracks ( second battery ). As I am living in a rainy environment, I have strictly respected the advices and after the winter, tested the load but did not load anymore...out of service.
