The gunk on the terminals is dielectric grease that I have just added. It helps to stop dirt ingress and corrosion and prevent the E914 error, hopefully 🤞🏼

This E201002 e.g. currently is a sporadic error which happens only when powering on the bike and still does happen also on the latest motor firmware 4.2.2 from time to time on some bikes, but in this case there is nothing to worry about. Just repower the bike and everything will be fine again...

I’m not following, when I’m logging using the app, I see only the error code and not the full description as you’ve mentioned. How can I access the full log without having the need to connect to the bike with a cable?
 
I think we aren’t on the same page.
I got error 201 and 914. You showed that there is an ability to get 6 digit code, how can I get it using the app?

To see the full error descripiton in the Bluetooth based E-Tube-Project-Cyclist app you need to have access to the internet with your smartphone, because Shimano is downloading the detailed error information then. However, also without internet access you will see the 5 or 6 digit error number in the error protocol of the E-Tube-Project-Cyclist app (compared to the just 3 digit number which will be shown on the display).
Also it would be very helpful if you would give some information about your bike like the used drive unit type and the currently installed motor firmware, because depending on these information, the error handling may be different then.
 
I have internet access and still the same error code is seems as I showed.
I’m not sure if the iPhone app is different than Android based one. Take a look at the photo I shared.

Ok, I now have seen your screenshot. This is a bit strange. I am very sorry, I am abroad currently and cannot help further, because I just have very limited access (and also not very good tools) to the internet currently.:oops:
One more thing: Please also show the overview of all the errors (which shows all the errors in a list).

The space between your bike battery electrical receptacle and the latch spring has to be according to the dimensions in the attached diagram. When I first got my bike, I had the dreaded E914 error many times over a period of weeks. This is the most current diagram. I fashioned my own alignment too to make sure the the space was exact. Seems that this has to be spaced exactly as per the diagram to the 0.5 mm or you will have problems. I have not had any E914s since I spaced the mounting using these exact dimensions.

Rode the bike for 30 minutes today without any issue.. this might be a glitch?

Exactly - this is very valuable information for any E914, because E914 may easily pop up if you have a connection problem between battery and drive unit. And if the battery is not exactly in place, then one or more contact(s) may not fit properly to the counterpart connector inside the bike frame and then E914 may happen.

Thanks for your reply and screenshot - it is a bit strange to me that the errors are not shown with some more digits on your E-Tube-Project-Cyclist app. However, it might be (I cannot check currrently) that only the Windows based E-Tube-Project-Professional program in combination with the cable bound PCE - interface might show 5 or 6 digit error numbers, because as you can see in my previous screenshot from Windows based E-Tube-Project-Professional the E201 error was shown with 6 digits:

Regarding the "glitch": Yes, as written the culprit (at least for the E914 and most probably also for some of the other errors) most probably is a connection issue in the contacts or cabling harness between battery and drive unit. The previous post of @bikerider confirms this assumtion too (however, E914 also can be caused due to e.g. humidity and corrosion on the contracts, as written before already). You may need a lot of patience and time (as well as bright light and a magnifier, e.g. from your smartphone) to find the culprit, however, I am very sure you will find the reason for these sporadic errors faster than any bikeshop (which cannot afford to dig several hours with a lot of test rides in such a situation and may give the bike back without any real solution or with a changed drive unit which most probably also will not cure the situation really).
 
For me the issue was very easily fixed and it has not happened again since.

What caused my error? When the bike was assembled at the factory and missed again during the PDI at the bikeshop, no one checked the screws (3mm hex head i think from memory) for the top battery mount.

They were that loose they were just rattling around in there.

I got the hex key out tightened them up and the error stopped occurring. Just another example of why I prefer working on my own bikes for any jobs that I have the tools for.

So I have Orbea rise and I am mostly worried about the E201 and not the E914.

I don’t see much reference online, that’s why I’m reading here.
 
E201 and E914 mostly happen at the same time (also in your case) and the reason mostly is due to contact problems, see e.g. down below where a very similar situation is shown with 6 digit error codes in the Windows based E-Tube-Project-Professional software.
Both errors also (like in your case) happened at exactly the same time and the culprit (for sure) was a contact issue:

So, as written before (also advised from other forum members): Take your time, be patient and check your bike carefully and thorougly and you most probably will become the expert of your bike which gives a wonderful feeling and makes you independant of any bikeshops. :)
 
So it might be the contact of the battery and the motor? I will try to figure it out.

What see us first the error if E201 appeared and than E914, which leads me to think it was an error in the motor that affected the battery and not the other way around

If 2 errors exactly have the same timestamp in the error history, then you don´t know which one was first in reality, because due to so called software structure based "race conditions" it is just a random game which one will win. :)

I was getting both E914 and E201 also which indicates the battery connection/connectors. Also I forgot to mention that Santa Cruz also sent me a new battery where the individual socket connections on the battery fit tighter to the spade connections on the battery mount. One way to check this (pin to socket friction) is by taking the battery out of the bike and using the auxiliary charging adapter to see if it plugs in tight to the battery. When I had the battery out and laid flat and I plugged the charging adapter in, it was very loose and would not stay flush to the battery connection without holding it in with my hand or using some type of prop to hold the connector in with out falling out and sagging. You should be able to connect this connector with a firm tight fit and not have it move away from the battery when you let go of it. When I got the new battery, the first thing I noticed was the socket connectors were a different color from the original battery. The original color was silver and the new socket connectors on the replacement battery were gold. Not sure if the color difference means anything, but was a coincidence that the gold connector had a noticeably tighter friction fit than the silver ones.
