Lake Jindabyne 2 weeks ago. Also in Australia's Alpine region. Part of the 1960's Snowy Hydro Scheme.

It's worse than that, the nights started drawing around the 12 June!
We're getting a week of half decent weather by the looks of it up my way. Put tent up today give it an airing for a few days. Maybe manage a sneaky night away in the van as well.
Edit Just tried putting tent up , abandoned midges bitten to bits on arms and face. That's East coast too

Setting sun over the south downs
Goodwood race course taken from the top of The Trundle on Wednesday.

A little 14 miler (approx ..as the mapping app turned itself off ) ..didn't want to do too much as there is a biggish ride planned for tomorrow with @The EMF ..if his shoulder injury is up to it from his "off" in N.Yorks yesterday ..
The Sidwood area of Kielder Forest is where I started my ride on a trail which has been closed since storm Arwen.The Bastle Trail ..and still is closed although someone local is still walking it and while designated as a walking trail I've been riding it for nigh on 30 years ( so drop my pants and spank me pink ) .. God knows why it should remain closed as it wouldn't take too much work ( Forestry England ) to get it back to its former self ..having said that the grass is getting high in places.
The rest of the ride had me on forest tracks in the main in good condition ..but some overgrown with seedling trees making them more like singletrack, ..byeways ( open to all vehicles ..and in a right mess) and singletrack tarmac roads in a rough state of disrepair..and all the better for it on an ebike ..

An overgrown forest doubletrack ..with Kielder Water showing at the very top of the pic..
Slaty Ford as slippery as a slippy thing ..minced my way over!
This is also where the mapping app switched off but it doesn't take much working out as to how I got back to the start..

My bike from a ride today...
Had a good dry one today 32 miles . Local to me
at Moray Monster Trails . Trying to think when this first opened
between 15 and twenty years I'm thinking. Still in good nick so Forestry must be doing something though I've never seen anyone working on them . Nothing scary but if you go fast enough it can catch you out , broken back now paralised , thumb pinned , two broken wrists on Xmas eve just a few of the injuries that I know .Repair or replace shimano boots ?

You probably could get them repaired Lancashire Sports Repair in Burnley springs to mind ..depends on cost and wether it's worth doing versus a new pair ..Had a good dry one today 32 miles . Local to me

I thought you were on about the trails Neil , I forgot about the boots haha. Got another pair the same only a few years old so will just probably dump the old ones had them a long time.. I could go in to Timpsons though the soles are ok just needs a bit glue eh.

You cut the second one the same, it will make very good airy shoes for the summer.. 
Repair! There is loads of life left in those yet.
Although my Emtb may be a little jealous from lack of use in the last couple of weeks, summer brings all new wonderful biking experiences to those who are willing to pay the price of admission.
Still too much snow on the top of Whistler but the trails at mid mountain are in great shape!

I remember hearing about it last time I was over there. I always fancied a couple days biking there but skiing always won.
But its so beautiful here in the summer!

Saw these tiny flowers, Mrs irie says thinks they're wild orchids and quite rare. Edit: apparently they’re Common birds-foot-trefoil and common as muck
Picture of the Eastern Solent and Isle of Wight - can see huge cargo vessels waiting to enter the port of Southampton.
Chichester Cathedral taken with telephoto, is about 300m from our house. Build over a Roman temple which was itself built over an earlier religious site.

A ride out of Westgate in Upper Weardale today with @The EMF ..
We've done this ride at least once a year for the last three years but usually in winter months so it was a pleasure to ride it with the sun shining ..
It's a tough ride from the off almost vertical but as it's on tarmac it doesn't really count ..
The first real challenge of the day certainly does count though ..Wayne tackling it with only two dabs after spinning out ..

Following the Burnhope Burn to our lunch stop at a shooters hut which unfortunately was locked ..which was a pity as a stiff wind had picked up and continued to be in our faces as we climbed up to nearly the 700m contour mark on Burnhope Moor ..
What goes up must come down and this last pic is from the 6km drop to Ireshopeburn which starts off rubbly then degrades over the next 3.5 km before becoming well surfaced again before the village ..warp speed with loads of drop offs giving a bit of "air" ..even if you didn't want it !
Another great ride out ..with another cracker to come next Saturday out of Dent in the very N.Western edge of the Yorkshire Dales with @Tonybro & @drewbirks..as well as Wayne ..of course !

Brilliant ride today with @The Hodge along with an excellent route description to boot……..like our last outing I can’t add much more to it. The weather was good but cold in the fresh breeze above the Wear Valley. Made a change for the Great Whyte to be covered in dust !!

Do you get the Dockan leafs growing near you. that is what we rub on a nettle sting and cures it quickly.
Yes, Dock does grown nearby and does seem to soothe nettle stings. However, both nettles and dock are acidic so perhaps it works because we believe it will.
