Its new Cassette day so that nearly completes the drive system. (Chainwheel/Chain/Cassette) Jockey Wheels to arrive in the next day or two.

Oneup pliers won't fit in my soon to arrive Oneup 70cc pump with EDC V2 toolkit so decided to get Knipex mini pliers which are 100mm/4" long so easy to stash.

When I first saw Knipex pliers, I thought they were just another channel lock type, but no, these German made beauties are something else! I don't have the mini yet, but need a pair.

A new roly poly spinny whoosh and some rubber.

Little tip, if you don't have a compressor or a tyre air shot inflator you can use zip ties to help squash the bead onto the rim and then you can use a normal bike pump to seat the tyre 👍

Think you need to buy a track pump next payday :). That little hand pump looks exhausting.

I like your idea but can't say I've ever struggled to fit a tubeless tyre with a track pump. A compressor or air shot isn't an essential but I think a track pump is.

To be fair to the little guy he does alright for a small pump, I usually take the wheels into work and use a compressor.

some tyre, wheel combos are difficult to seat. some wheels have a deep drop centre, if both tyre beads are in it, it can be a struggle to set the bead as air just escapes around the bead constantly.
I had this happen and could only get it to set with a compressor.

The zip tie trick is handy to know if you're in a pinch 👍

Have an Air Shot but since I bought a Topeak Joe Blow Mountain X (on special offer) haven't needed to use the Airshot, but might have just been lucky of course.

Speaking of pumps. If you want a pump that won't wear you out, fits on the bike, and is easy to use when needed, this guy has been gold:

If I lose this one, I'd buy another. I doubt it will ever break.

Bought a little USB rechargeable pump, seems really good. Comes with a little frame bag to attach it to your bike.

Will inflate 7 and a bit mountain bike tyres (29 x 2.4) from flat to 20psi on a single charge, will go up to 150psi pressure (apparently, I haven't tested it that high as I run my tyres at 20psj)

Hoping they’re the final piece of the puzzle in getting my cockpit position sorted.

Replaced the shoddy acros plastic headset cups and bearings for the much nicer Nukeproof set up, also added a DMR defy stem 🤟

And when you don't want to splash out for the one job tools, just make your own 😆

Why do you need to use a bearing press for an integrated headset cup?

Surely that's only something that was necessary on old bikes.

Edit.. Or have I misunderstood what that first contraption is?

I used it to press the new cups into the frame.

What's the mod exactly?

I also got this recently, it’s an upgrade for the Fox float shock, it gives you “functional” (it’s debated how much) low speed compression cap. Still much more satisfying than the original plastic cap

I'm really confused by this, the float x that came on my cube already has the low speed compression knob, but the same float x that came on my friends specialised levo just has a black blanking off cap?

Does this mean he can take the black cap off, replacing it with the blue knob and get some low speed compression?
If so why do they blank it off at all?

Ah I see. I tend to just grease them up and push them into place by hand. Never seems to need any force.

To be honest I didn't even try to push them in by hand, the old ones were tight in the frame and needed a fair bit of tapping to get out. I doubt I would have been able to push them in by hand, either that or you're abnormally strong 💪
Or I'm a weakling 😆 either way they are in now 👍

Yes, he can, here are the instructions from fox:

The debated part is how much these clicks of lsc are gonna really affect the suspension. I haven’t been able to ride yet as I have been recovering from knee surgery (acl, very popular this year unfortunately..)

Any good, I have been looking at this for a while myself to keep in the car for when we get to the trails etc

Yep it seems really good. I have my tyres at 20psi, and it'll fill one from flat to 20psi in just under 2 minutes. That's for a 29 x 2.4 mtb tyre.

It'll do this 7 and a bit times before the battery is flat.

It's very small and light at ~350g, and for me it's replaced my hand pump. It comes with a little frame bag to strap it to your frame, so I've put the pump, some tyre anchovies, and an anchovy tool inside a zip lock freezer bag (to keep water out) and then put all that in the frame bag that the pump comes with and strapped it to the underside of the top tube.
