Favourite local ride today . Walked the dodgy bit today must be gettin old. Still wet out .Used to go to this croft and help out as a 13 year old falling to bits now. Aways wanted to be a farmer so I went to sea at fifteen 🤔 ?.

Oh man KnollyBro...for a moment I thought you were perhaps a huge narcissist. At first that looked like a mirror in front of your work stand and dumb bells, and I could just picture you flexing in front of that mirror while working out with your dumb bells and working on your bike. :ROFLMAO:

Just kidding of course...LOL! I agree with your take on the brakes. Just like with motorcycles, it's the front brake that does the lion's share of the work. I find it does a tiny bit more with my emtb compared to my pedal-only bikes, but I guess that's primarily due to weight and an effort to modulate the power a bit. But like you suggest on the rear brake issue, it's why most road motorcycles have twin discs up front.

BTW, cool pics.

I'd been out for a ride and had just got out of the shower when I saw a rainbow out of my bedroom window. When I looked closer, it was a full ground to ground one! I yelled to my wife to get out and take a photo and then scrambled for my phone. By the time I got sorted, the top of the rainbow was already fading. My wife took the first one, if you look carefully, you can see a second rainbow above the primary one. The other three were the same rainbow, all taken by different people in different parts of my village, all within seconds of each other. On the second pic, you can see a clearer second rainbow.

This was the first " proper " off -road ride since mid-December and although the weather wasn't as forecast ( mizzle) at least it wasn't raining ..
We had a bridleway to explore which myself & Wayne had got lost on near the back end of last year ..but knowing where we had gone wrong we rode it in reverse as far as the Coquet Cairn but decided against going further towards the Simonside Hills when Wayne's front wheel went beyond axle deep in the bog ( saving that bit for a summer ride ) .
The part we rode was good but looked as if it hadn't been ridden before and could very easily be lost / overgrown in no time at all so folding saws to accompany next time .
The b/way heading back from Coquet Cairn

The Coquet River " wetlands with all manner of aquatic Birdlife ..

The last section of the ride was up Physic Lane at Thropton onto the carriage drive ( an outrigger of Cragside House above Rothbury .
Colin knows just about every bit of singletrack leading off the " drive " ..a lot of it too squelchy to ride today but the very last section before hitting the road at Pondicherry ( or millionaires row as its also known as you surely would have to achieved that status to be able to afford a lot of the properties here ) ..was an absolute treat and over way too soon .
Great to be out again on the rough stuff and my thanks to both Colin & Wayne for the company & craic ..

This is a very nice garden view! 👍
Can’t add anymore to @The Hodge descriition. The trails were very clartty In places but a great ride out.
Here a few of my pics of the ride. Along with our very own horse whisperer in Colin.
Thanks for a great ride out in excellent company

Great to see you all riding and having fun! 👍 I saw knee protectors before but is this set including a belly protector? 🤔

Pretty casual ride today as over twenty fat bikers took over the town of Lacombe. More of a meet and greet and promo for the bike shops and micro brewery that organize and sponsor the events. One can’t help but think that many showed up just for the complementary beverages offered up by Blindman Brewery at the end of the ride. Kidding aside, it was a fun ride and a great way to meet other ‘Plus sized’ bikers. ;) The previous gathering numbered over 30 riders. Next outing will likely be at night and take place closer to home.

Yes terrible rain this past couple months. and my area on your map is not too bad it's white. Tomorrow will tell. All parked up at Dark Sky Site for the night so it will be cloudy. Ben Rinnes today walking before the rain started so can't complain. Bike tomorrow though. Ben Rinnes is doable but haven't got two batteries. Mole catcher in his wee buggy.

Early start nice clear dry morning. Went to Knochkan bothy by a different route. Stayed there last year plenty firewood none this time. Clean and tidy in living room and bedroom. Brave lad who would bare their bum in the composite toilet though. Very muddy trail back following the Smugglers path . Plenty deer and this is a big sheep area so I wonder if thats why Highland Spring water tastes so good. Tourists love paying a fortune to get knocked silly in a land rover following this path during Speyside Whisky festival . Carried on up to Scalan college a seminar for young lads going to be priests when Catholicism was banned . Would have been a very bleak place in the 1700ds I imagine for a young loon. Don't have to go far sometimes for a decent ride out only 30 miles from me . Any excuse for a night away in the wee van on my own. Got to try out my free toasty grill thing and it is great and it was a freeby . Apologiesfor so manypictures. .
