Pic of the Day

This reminds me of our shooting range at the edge and entrance to our trail system. It can be unnerving for a new visitor.
The military, police and active members use this shooting range daily, however the range’s days are numbered. I know the general layout and have used the range for archery. ( separate area). A few of the trails are named; Bullet Dodger, Bullet Catcher and Bullet Tooth Tony.

I always hope that the flying lead is aimed at the berm backdrop. Sometimes it sounds like someone is shooting a cannon 😳
The pulleys for the targets were still there last year . It was for Navy base at Lossiemouth originally I presume that's RAF base now. Bollards for stopping tanks so maybe WW2 .

Tarland Trails yesterday great day and stayed in campsite so managed to charge battery for another day of fun or torture. Not many people at Tarland to be honest but midweek and i heard some people still have to work bless them . I don't do many bike parks so a totally different type of riding for me I found it a tiring 20 miles . Did roughly the same distance today but a hill ride im still tired though , must be the drive home . Went up the Firmouth track today and back down on the Fungle to same area i left from. I would have like to carry on down to Tarfside / Glen Esk area but i wouldn't have had enough juice , roll on 1000wh batteries. Met a Canadian couple on Gravel bikes all loaded up on my way back down they're probably still pushing up the Fungle . Met a few locals yesterday right enough but most folk i spoke to were up from England and doing a tour of some of the MTB areas . As the saying goes Haste ye back we lo you dearly. Probably the last of the decent weather it was a lot cooler up a height . Details on app for two rides not much difference really considering they were totally different.

That looks a great place. 👍

It would take me a long time to get used to them Blue skies and not having to take a jacket with me
Don't worry, it's not always so nice to ride there. I was once in June and I had to start riding at 6 in the morning and finish before 12 am. It was already +40 C then 🥵

Was exploring today and stumbled upon a really nice and long rock garden which I wasn't expecting ... this was unfortunate as excitement took over and I forgot I'd not really tightened my phone in the mount .... The Lyric just wasn't upto the task of phone preservation ...
