I did a motor battery tcu swap between LSL2 and KSL, 170mm cranks too long though. Ordered the new 155mm cranks from the kids HT. They fit great on the SL1.2 motor. Pretty cheap too at 100 GBP's.

Seems like a lot of expense and fuss for a bike that is primarily designed to go downhill
Even more so for the KSL as you need to get to the top of big Mountains faster.
Levo’s on the other hand are just trail bikes and had enough power as they were.

I think this shows the kenevo sl with the 1.2 motor is going to sell well. Be cheaper to buy the new one than buy a levo sl strip it then sell it as a duffy 1.1sl surely? unless you keep the levo sl 2 with the old motor? I cant see anyone wanting to buy a new levo sl with a old motor and battery etc in.

power and torque is noticeably more, especially at lower cadences (<80). Sound is a bit quieter but a different, less obtrusive pitch. Range is a bit worse. Handling no change as weight and motor position the same.
Thanks. I'd like to do this, also. Except, I just want to buy the new motor, not the entire new Levo bike. Do you know if they are selling just the new SL 1.2 motor?

No. It's also unlikely in the shorter term that they will. There's several threads about this if you search/read for 1.2 or Mahle 1.2 or just read back any of the threads you have been reading a few pages.

Thanks. I also have a small Specialized dealer not too far from my house. I haven't been in there in a couple of months. Maybe I'll go talk to him. I'd probably keep my Kenevo SL if I could put the new motor in it. I put my Kenevo SL up for sale yesterday.

I also have a Kenevo SL with a 1.2 engine, I bought the 165mm cranks which are the ones that come standard on the Kenevo.

I doubt it. Sadly it seems people want more range and more torque. Luckily the newer gen of batteries and motors are GENERALLY a touch lighter, but the KSL is a big bike with a generally more complicated suspension platform.

Personally I if one finds 35NM not enough, which is already saving me 1/4-1/2 climb time, then we really are moving towards just spinning away... I would however like the newer generation of batteries for even lighter weight, same range.
