loving the S4 as a playful trail bike, sizing works for me at 6,2. I probably could have gone S5 as its similar to my S4 enduro but wanted a playful bike.

Is anyone riding their bike with the flip chip in high and the head tube in the slack position?

I’m curious what type of HT angle this results in. Seems like it would give you a higher BB, steeper ST angle and a similar HT angle to the factory settings.
Thinking of doing this myself, keep snagging the cranks with the stock set up. Please could you keep me posted of you try it?

Putting the questionable colour of the Pro aside, there needs to be more of a price difference between the Expert and Pro to make me choose the Expert...

Does anyone get an audible motor disengagement noise. Usually when you stop peddling and between gear changes?
It’s like a whir that’s much noise than the normal motor operation. Lasts less than a second

Hard to say if that's normal as the motor is just noisy full stop. It seems to makes lots of different noises under lots of different conditions...

I'm biased on the colour as I have a Pro. Expert wasnt released at the time, but I agree, it does make the pro seem the 'better' buy in UK. Carbon wheels, bars, better transmission, factory suspension, better dropper/saddle etc.

I disagree, its 'slightly' noisier than a FF, but most of the time you cant hear it. Tyre/terrain and breathing noise seem louder. Mine doesnt have any disengagement noises.

Maybe mine is just louder than most. In high gear, high cadence situations the motor is particularly noisy, it only goes down to Levo Gen 3 FF levels of noise when in the lower gears.

There is no way you are passing people on the trail on the SL without them knowing you are on an ebike, aside for the more bulky look of the FF (and the fact I'm flying past them! :D) , people don't always realise it's an ebike when going past them on a climb...

I imagine that is the cadence. My road is a gateway to the trails and hundreds of E-bikes come past every weekend.
The only bike that I couldn’t hear was the Trek EXE. The rest I can always hear. Lower cadence and fat blokes will always be quieter😂

Agreed, you'll be in the higher gear, high cadence situations more often on SL bikes which generally makes them far noisier than their FF counterparts...

I really like that satin red colour on the expert but it would be dumb not to go with the pro for £1250 more. There’s way more than £1250 in upgrades there, the expert needs to be about £1500 cheaper to make it worth it.

Just been for another ride and it feels like there is a slight disengagement delay in the motor. My gut feeling is that it’s not quite right as even changing gear your get this whir inbetween. Didn’t happen on the Gen 1. It’s not every time I stop peddling or change gears but probably 40% of the time. I’ve sent a video to my LBS.
Recorded it whilst riding and holding my Iphone less than a foot from motor😳

Are you talking about an audible motor disengagement noise (whir) on over-run?

This noise definitely wasn’t present on the Gen1. This new one is a lot quieter in every other scenerio so it makes this overrun noise so noticeable to me.
I agree though, what a bike! Got it dialled now so riding it properly. Same average heartrate than on my Epic Evo which is one of the reasons I prefer the SL, you can get a proper workout without feeling like you’re pushing a tank around. The agility is great too. If I had the money I’d have probably have one of each!!
FF is a fantastic bike too, each to their own.

Yes same noise on my bike, it doesn't really bother me TBH.
Thanks.
I had the reply from the LBS and Specialized confirmed it’s normal. The disengagement/engagement is more noticeable due to the quieter motor and extra power apparently. Riding style can also affect how much it’s heard.
As long as it’s normal I don’t mind. Would be better if it wasn’t there but it’s the only motor negative so far compared to the Gen 1.

How are you finding the Ohlins TTX air on the bike? Good balance with the Fox 36? I notice you're not running the Specialized version of the shock, is yours custom tuned?
No speci version, runs well , progressive enough for me .. maybe the Specii is smoother

Been riding FF in mountains for 10 days soo now Im back riding XCO tech trail with SL 2.
Super agile and fun...more of analogue bike with support than e-bike.

I run a Hacksta MTB XCO track in Åkersberga Sweden:

4 laps in total 18.5 km
Time 1h 45 min
Climb 434 meter =1423 feet
Power Eco mode 20-40
Last run 40-50% on micro adjust

Charge at start 80%
Charge at finish 50%
Power usage 30%

Rider weight 98 kg fully geared

I guess power effort and battery usage is OK running this.
