Fuel EXe Trek fuel exe range extender battery availability?

Full battery #2 has finally arrived! Ordered back in October.
With end caps and tax it was over $800, but I still feel that's a better value than the range extender. I had to pick up a few fasteners at the hardware store. No firmware issues.

Just about perfect timing with the snow melting off the highest elevation rides here.
Looking forward to mine showing up. Report back any issues.

Just contemplating the pack and a battery and ~1,100 bucks on your back. Ouch!
Agreed, but I want to do big rides. I run out of battery often and want to ride more. This is still a less expensive option than 2 range extenders. and will give about 6% more battery.

To put it in perspective the battery is only 64oz.
So about the same extra weight as a half-full camelback bladder. It's like 28oz heavier & $200 more than the extender.

Do you have any feedback on how the weight with a water bladder feels on a ride? Thank you. Anxious to get my setup.

Gonna date myself here, but I rode with 120oz bladders on most rides for at least a decade. 64oz sounds like a lot, but really it isn't especially since it's weight that helps get you uphill. About the same weight as a small laptop.

if you go with a range extender, then you'll need to carry water on your back somehow. The full battery weighs more but moves some of the total weight carried back to your bike.

Just checked 7/24 arrival in July for US. Trek claims that there are units that have been delivered and would love to see a pic on any inmate that has one. I did register my distaste using the chat function on the Trek website a few minutes ago. Have debated long and hard about the extra battery v. RE and came to the conclusion that the RE better suits my needs- who knows I could change my mind again.

Since I don't wear a pack the extra standard battery is a non starter for me. I wear bibs and can easily carry my water bottle on my back though.

Just received mine - ordered on Saturday

Apparently the range extender is in stock at one of the places I created an email alert for, so have ordered it, should be here in a couple of days

Just phoned my LBS on the back of Mteam's post above & apparently mine has arrived too 🤞

You did remember to order the cable & strap too didn't you?

My range extender just got pushed back to late August 2023. I ordered it in August 2022.....1 year is ridiculous, especially given the Specialized had batteries for the new Levo SL available right away.

I switched my order to a full battery instead of RE. The battery was supposed to be here 6/12 (Monday), but just got pushed back to late June. Trek dropped the ball on these RE's and batteries.

I picked up my range extender at the weekend & it's a case of so far so good. There's one thing that puzzles me though, the RA is an extra 40% battery capacity but when it is fully charged the bikes display shows 150%, surely it would make more sense if it displayed 140%? I can't imagine the RA & main battery discharge at different rates so the % left reading must be wrong, at least until the RA is spent or is the software taking that into account?

It gives you more motivation to use your muscle as first 50% drop rather quickly

my range extender arrived today, now to decide whether I also need to keep two main batteries or whether I should just sell one of them

These are good problems to have. Try the range extender before you decide.

My second battery will be here on 6/28. I will have 720 wh capacity for some really long rides. I bought the Evoc E-Ride backpack to carry the spare battery. The battery fits perfect in the compartment on the backpack. The backpack is really comfortable and the weight of the battery is not noticeable, at least in my living room. Here are some pics of the pack then a couple with the battery in the compartment

It’s nice having options. A second main battery and a range extender makes for a very versatile platform.

my range extender is still on order. I may get that also, but not sure. I don’t think I’ll need 880 wh, but that would be some epic rides.
