I have a Husqvarna Mc6 2019 with a Steps E8000 motor. It started making strange noises intermittent until the whole motor assembly started rattling and vibrating. Could not move the bike backwards because the whole unit locked up and it only drove like 1/4 of a turn until it stopped assisting completely. Opened it up just to see that the smaller cog on the first intermediate axle (right after the motor axle) was missing 3 teeth. Shimano won't look for any spare parts because their only answer was "you do not disassemble these motors!" (what a consumer world we live in!)

So to the question, would anyone have a spare motor with some other problem that could provide me these 2 intermediate axles (because I'm anxious that the large cog on the second axle may have caught some damage too) so I can get it running again? Or do you think it's repairable through welding and grinding by a specialist? Maybe someone's sitting on a used unit that still works?

Fuck me that looks nasty  Question is where did all the ground metal paste go?
The bike has done 8200km and has a chip installed since one month after the purchase. Maybe the rpm's inside the motor assembly is too high when you run them limitless so all the grease is getting flung to the sides?

8200km in 4 years? That is a lot, to be honest I'm surprised the motor lasted that long ...

That's over 5,000 miles, amazing that it lasted so long.
My first E8000 motor did over 18,000 miles derestricted/'chipped' in under 2 years before the crank bearings collapsed, my Dads Bosch Gen3 made it to around 24,000 miles.

I haven't found any source for new parts, still looking for used parts. I've found defective units on Ebay but they still go for quite a lot.
I didnt find any defective units on ebay. Do you have a link?

You can buy a new e8000 motor from ebay pretty cheap , it is a german store that sell theme.

The company have good reviews on ebay so they are legit.

Just checked as I watched all the cheaper new from eBay..looks like they have gone as I’m sure they were around 500 euro.

500 euro? The cheapest I coud find was 1100 euro not inkluding sending cost. But there most be some bike shops with disasimbled motors laing around. But cant find anyone willing to send it to Norway

Is this the same in the e8000 and e7000?

I think that the axle assembly are the same, but can't leave any guarantee that I'm correct on this information. I've only done comparisons through images I've seen.

What does the mating gear look like ? It has to be trash also
What are you willing to pay . I have those parts

to be honest, I can't see any deformation on any teeth at all, it does have a bit of play (like, it can wobble) on the axle and I'm not sure if that's okey or not. So maybe I'll replace both of them just to be safe. Let me send you a PM for price.

Im In California USA so there is shipping cost also

I have gone from thinking Shimano is a decent company to quite the opposite after learning their way of supporting their own motors.
I'll never get a bike with a Shimano motor again.

I went to Specialized I can ride all day on a charge Customer support is great they are there when you need it . I had to buy a new Shimano motor so I could sell the old bike

Because of the products reliability and customer support, Shimano is shooting itself in both feet and Bosch and others are taking over the ebike market by storm.

And it is a pity because Shimano was once a great company, until they released the Steps motor and batteries and chose benefit over Customer Satisfaction.
