Heart rate could enable a cool training functionality to allow the rider to stay within a heart rate range and have the motor modulate assistance accordingly :).
as far as I know thats what is also possible with specialized levos. but agree would be nice to have it on the fuel exe also ;-)

missing clip in battery cover
i just took my battery out for the first time and saw that the clip that is used to screw the bolt into when riding without the main battery is missing. It is supposed to be attached to the cover. I will let my Trek shop know next time I am there as it is not urgent for me but you may want to check Your bike. Without the clip the cover cannot be reattached as the bolt normally screws into the battery. Without that clip to receive the bolt it cannot be reattached if the battery is not installed. Why May this relevant? I plan to store the battery in the house during the cold winter months and it will be good to have the plate attached to the bike during that time. I also read that some people may want to fly with the bike without the main battery and ride with just the range extender.

Thanks for that feedback and your questions!

1 Extended centre button functionality means you can use the centre button for changing support modes but then need to double press for switching screens.
2 The Trek Fuel EXe requires a software update to be fully compatible with the TQ App. Update is available at your LBS since November 1st.
3 You have all avalaible data pages active already, motor temperature and heart rate are not featured
Are there any intentions for the consumer to be able to update their own firmware, inline with most other products?

In the mean time, will the dealer have a list of changes the firmware includes, for transparency of what is being changed in our bike?

I changed mine to Line Pro 30s and love them. The 108 hub while great can be a little noisy at times, kinda wish I got an Onyx (silent) for this bike to keep the stealth factor.

RE: "ONYX" They ARE chonkers, but really add to the silent factor. Now all you hear is your suspension working & your tires chirping. I had doubts about the 'sponge' that some people report of these hubs, but i don't feel that at all. very smooth and instant.

I don't think the tq motor is significantly more inefficient than any of the others. I did a ride yesterday with a mate with an orbea rise M20 , we rode at the same pace, but he is lighter than me by about 5 or 6 kilos, his bike has faster rolling tyres,and most importantly he is fitter than me. I finished with 28% battery remaining ,he finished with 35% remaining, that seems like they're about evens to me taking into account his lighter weight,quicker tyres and better fitness.

Obviously this is all anecdotal,but I don't think the tq motor has any problems with efficiency.
That is good news. I really like this bike but the (potential) range issues are a big concern. I'll keep an eye on this forum and see other people's real life experiences.

Did another ride today,15 miles,666m of ascent, 10.3mph average moving speed, had 29% battery remaining at the end. I used eco mode on the flats and very slight uphills, mid mode for anything else,and max for the steepest hills

Again battery usage was pretty much in line with my friend on his rise M20.

So range seems on par with other bikes with similar battery/power in my opinion.

The default tq/trek settings for each mode also seem bang on to me ,when I first got the bike I changed settings of the modes and my range was not as good, over the last few rides I have been adjusting them to try and find a good setting for me and I've ended up pretty much back at the default settings- should have just left it there in the first place!

I just picked up a 9.7 and am having trouble finding a chainring bashguard that is compatible with the mounting points. E13 make the chain guide special for this bike but not a compatible bash guard.
Anyone found anything that will work?

Does anyone know what the headset type is, i.e. ZS44? All I found on the Trek site was ‘tapered’ which wasn’t useful.
Don't know, but are you upgrading your headseat because of the gap between the frame and the headset? I don't like that gap, water and dirt can ruin your bearings.

I know a 160 Lyrik is okay, but my shop is under the impression that because of the longer measurement from crown to axle of the Zeb, the Zeb would void the warranty.

Yes, I think the shop is correct. There is a max travel and a max axle to crown length specified, I think the 160zeb exceeds the max axle to crown,whereas the 160 lyrik doesn't.

Your shop is correct, the Zeb isn't approved due to the AC length being 576mm, which is only 3mm over our max (160mm or 573mm axle-to-crown).

Since this bike has no ISCG mounts, you won't see any bash guards unless they are newly developed. Currently, only e*Thirteen makes a chain guard (part number W5276728) which was made by our request for this bike.

Thank you Mitch! Great to know! I'll definitely get one of those bash guards (and go to 160 on my Lyrik when the part is available).

Re the gap in the headset... I posted previously re my bike's TQ system not starting up after I had carefully washed the bike and had also covered the display, remote switch and access holes in the frame for the cable with masking tape. It started up 4 days later when seemingly things had dried out. But one spot I didn't cover was the headset gap. So I am suspicious that water got in there and ran down to the display / control unit which is literally just centimetres away.

Since then I only wash the bike frame areas with a spray bottle and damp cloth. But I saw someone suggest packing grease into the gap of the headset to keep water and dirt out... which I think is a great idea. Or change the headset.

All the 205x60 Float X shocks comes with 2 spacers. You increase rear travel by approximately 5mm if you take one out, and approximately 10mm if you take both 2.5mm travel spacers out.

You need shorter screws if you want to take both spacers out.

Seems like people have no issues with bottom out clearance.
