When I had the Decathlon Stilus, which as everyone knows, is the greatest E Bike ever made, I bumped into a guy on another one out on the trail, riding in Crocs. I still occasionally think about him, trying to work out if he was bringing shame to mountain biking or the coolest dude in the history of shredding.

I was at Cwm Carn between lockdowns and there was a group of Indonesian (I think) riders in knee pads, elbow pads, full face helmets and flipflops! Fucking flipflops! :ROFLMAO:

I visited Cologne cathedral the day before yesterday and had a woman in front of me climb the 500+ stairs up one of the towers. But that's another story. 😉

Three hikers walking towards me on an fairly rocky access road. I usually check out the footwear and gear so I can quickly gage their level of experience. If anyone is staring into the screen on their phone then they are likely new to this mountain. But not these guys.
I was riding up so these guys likely walked a 2+hour loop and were on the way back to their vehicle (1/2 hour away). Their gear was something you would wear if you were going shopping at a mall. But the guy in the middle …wear very short shorts …and he would never get his socks or shoes wet…because he wasn’t wearing any. Barefoot. WTF 😳.

This was either the ending of a stagg party or this guy lost a bet. I had no words, And a missed opportunity for a pic even though my iPhone camera was in my hip-pac.

Double loop of "The 8" at Gisburn yesterday. 24 miles, 2500ft. Took the Rise but put it in for a service on the way home as started creaking from somewhere and I couldn't find out where when stationary. Asked them to check all linkages and seat post, motor bolts, headset, etc.

Mind you it has done nearly 800 miles with nothing but a bit of maintenance from mee (pads, lubes, etc.) so a bit of TLC is due I suppose! :-) It's taken everything in its stride and 95% has been rough off-road tracks, rocks, roots, ruts, etc.

Having to live on the Merida now until back...

Up near the top of the upper loop before the final climb.

No riding due to injury ( and no bike as its also requiring surgery ) ..so a couple of walks along the Northumberland Coast with lunch in between ..which did the damaged ankle no good but made the missus very happy .
First up the coastal path south of Craster ..lunch in The Jolly Fisherman then up to Bamburgh for an ice cream and a walk along the beach ..lack of bike apart ..pretty much a perfect day

Which won't mean an awful lot to anyone who didn't watch the Viking series " The Last Kingdom " on Sky TV..
I did however totally amuse myself when I convinced a southern based tourist that I had been the window cleaner at the castle for twenty years until injury forced retirement last year ( my limp adding authenticity) ..the missus just walked away..😂

Finished our little trip to the Peaks / Sheffield this morning by sessioning ‘Blue Steel’ at Lady Cannings Plantation. It’s actually a really fun fast flowing trail with plenty of jumps & rollers thrown in to pump your way around the trail

Good to meet Mr & Mrs @St4nley too , hope you enjoyed your ride 😀👊🏼
