care to show us a pic that actually shows how much material you've removed from the arch? and how you did it?
I guess I must be the other end of the "gen pop" from you as someone who's twisted and snapped multiple RS fork arches over the years. I'd have to be mental to remove material from the arch. Especially if it was just to run a mudguard.
A CRUD XL would have given you better clearance without voiding your warranty BTW

I didn't document the process because my hands were busy. Imagine a cordless grinder with a 3" slitter disc as the tool.
We certainly are on other end of the gen pop if that is so and also the planet just about. Never had the pleasure of even owning but a few RS forks. Long story but none broke although others did. The arch has just as much as the one from this eralier version that I was riding most recently.
Wasn't done to aid in fitting a mudguard rather than to accept a 29" wheel. The mudguard fit was a bonus. I'll keep an eye on it, and also for a very good deal on a proper one. In the meantime I get to ride my bike as I want it. Not my first warranty void.
This was a 20mm thru axle Reba of mine. (same era as the one in your example)
The arch sapped surprisingly easily on those and the Pikes of the same era (I twisted and broke a fair few lowers of those too).
Contrary to your belief a thru axle does not make your fork arch any stronger. Infact quite the opposite in certain circumstances. And what you've done to your fork absolutely compromises its strength whatever you happen to believe.
It would have made tons more sense for you to have sold the fork intact and put the proceeds towards an actual 29" fork. Now when do you get round to buying a "proper one" you're left with an unsellable (if your conscience and ethics are sound) piece of scrap.

Ps. Doug Bradbury was indeed a pioneer but he also designed a ton of outright dangerous stuff. Including lower fork castings that the dropouts would snap clean off.

That looks nasty. You obviously are a way more rad rider than my old XC self. Good for you! My situation is such that I don't really care if my fork is scrap and certainly would not sell it on. Thanks for your concern though.

Fox Flexair Pro Trousers but they are going back. Crazy sizing, legs are so short. 32 waist is about 29inch inside leg.

I have another wheelset for proper riding!), Muc-Off tubeless repair kit (bar end plugs), Muc-Off tubeless valves, Invisiframe kit, 220mm front rotor, and Durolux36 EQ R2C2 forks. There's a bunch of other bits too, but they're all stuff that was already lying around in the workshop.

I tried Stans when I first setup my gravel bike on tubeless… changed to MucOff the next time I done it and found it a bit better… hopefully you’ll find the Stans works well for you though

Ive just got some in a 32 and know what you mean, I think I just get away with the length though… I seem to be right in the middle of the 30 and 32
…got some Flexair shorts coming in a 30 I got on sale so hopefully can get into them fine too?!
Good find! Cheers for posting that, I just picked up a set myself, along with a knockabout bike/ski lid that happened to be on a rack nearby! Nice fit, full back of head coverage, rotary dial adjustment, very comfy, removable ear cushions, even has a loop at the back for goggles/light mounting. Made in Germany too. Overall its far better than my Harsh skate lid which was £30. All for the grand sum of.....£3.99!

Yeah it's deffo more of a cold weather lid. Tbh I got it primarily for my electric unicycle where heat isn't an issue as you don't really do much work riding them! But I think it would work well for winter cycling too, and the top vents have a lever to open/close them. It's super cosy with the ear pieces fitted but they look a bit divvy so don't think I would ever use them

I went to the woods with it last night… this is the best light, eva!
My riding buddy had an exposure next to me. When I switched to setting #4 my light flooded the road to such an extent that his light on the road became almost invisible.
I also like the fact that the light itself is feather-weight. What I don’t like is the cable to the battery that I placed in my bottle cage.
Overall result is very enlightening.
