Hi All
Looking forward to browsing the site and picking up some tips along the way.
I recently bought a Whyte e150 RS and have to say one of the best moves I have ever made, I took it up to Kielder a week ago and felt like a teenager again, not getting any younger and having dodgy knees I feel like I can get out and enjoy myself again which I couldn’t do with my Scott scale hard tail due to the knees

Welcome. Great decision, EMTB’s are pure fun! Whyte’s seem particularly popular in the North East. A few of us on here met at Kielder not long ago and had a right blast. Two of the riders were on Whyte’s

One of those riders was moi ..the other The EMF..
I'm on a 160rs..E's on a 150rs ..I've just been out with a non ebiking mate on a ride we started out of Hexham ..which believe it or not has some great singletrack not too far out of the Town Centre ..who also rides a Whyte 900 series hardtail ..
I'm from Bellingham ..just down the road from Kielder ..EMF is from Ashington ..Give us a shout if you want a ride out any time..
Welcome to the forum ..

Is there good riding up there these days? I used to live in Middlesbrough.
There always has been ..its just that we keep quiet about it ??..
But to answer your question ..as already said Hamsterley trail centre has some fantastic trails ..Kielder too ..Hexhamshire Common ..great moorland singletrack in the North Pennines.. Inc The Bolts Law loop & Slaley Forest ..
The woods on the south of Hexham itself boasts dome great singletrack which are " unclassified " and you need a local to show you ..
The jewel in the crown for me though would be the Cheviot Hills which straddle the border of Northumberland & Scotland ..so quiet ..and that's the way we like it ..
It takes a huge bribe to even get anyone to think about showing you around ?

Guisborough & Hutton Lowcross Woods, Celevland Hills, very busy places. Just had the Ard Moors event at Lord Stones, same organisers as Ard Rock

I didn’t realise there was so many trails around The North East, I have done Hamsterly on my mtb a few years ago and looking forward to going back down there on my new bike when work commitments allow

There’s also some good trails at Newcasleton, just over the border into Scotland behind Kielder. We haven’t been there yet but it’s on our to do list. And Tweed Valley isn’t too far for a weekend trip

Newcastleton is good ..just don't be tempted to start it from Kielder on the Lonesome Pine / Cross Border Route on an ebike ..unless you are prepared to cycle back under your own steam ..??
